hi everyone this tutorial is all about setting up your tax rates in your Wix online store so the tax rates can be a little bit confusing to set up so I'm hoping this tutorial helps break it down for you nice and easily step-by-step and I'm gonna try and show you some of the different things that you can do to set this up it also coincides with setting up your shipping rates as well so if you are looking searching rates to certain areas – this is a great tutorial to have a watch off so to access the area where you add in your tax or even your shipping you need to jump into the manager of your online store so when you're in the editor you can do this and we're gonna jump down all the way through here to my store when I click that I have what's called the store manager or I can click here which says manage your store either way when I click that this is what appears I apologize for the slow loading it's my internet connection so this is what is going to appear for you you might have some different things ticked off or not ticked off depending on where you're at but what we need to do is jump down to business setup make you feel a little gray arrow just here when we click over business up we've got a few options and shipping and tax is the third one down so let's take a look here so I've actually already got some set up this is a store I've been on and off working with so I'm gonna add some new ones in and I'm gonna use the United States as an example because I've already done some Australian one so I don't want to confuse things so what we're going to do is we need to add in a new region okay so this firstly identifiers to the online store that we want to ship and get tax from this online from this particular location so the first thing we need to do is add the destination we start with the country first so the United States okay and then that's done okay so this is this is a region of the United States now let's say particularly all I want to do is set the rates for one particular state and I'm going to use Florida as that example so UN states I click over it and it says do you want this particular tax rate or this particular shipping rate to apply to all the states and in this case I'm gonna say no I'm just gonna set up a Florida right okay so firstly I scroll down I find Florida I select it as you can see before I unclick to all states so deselected everything selected Florida and hit done and also go to rename this particular tax and shipping rule to Florida so I always can come back and edit it and I know that's what I've got set for Florida okay so the next thing I do is set my shipping so I can do free shipping flat rate by weight by auto price or allow pickup I'm just gonna do free shipping I'm feeling generous miss tutorial today free shipping and it's May delivery time of five days there we go and of so it's free so that I'm not gonna be able to type in a write those do you think you can make that selection that's right for your business miss like flat rates whatever it is remember we're just doing one state here we're just doing Florida so it can be whatever you want it to be okay as I scroll down the second item is tax so I've got three options I can go no tax I can set the same tax for the entire region or I can set different tax rates within the region so if I go same tax rate to the entire region so I want to for Florida I want to do 7% I can set it that way okay I can set it for different within the region and that is because the only thing I've got set in this region is Florida so that's where I can click 7% and that's that particular one okay so if for example I know that Florida has a few different tax rates depending on different suburbs in weeks you can only set one specific tax rate so what I would recommend in this situation is if the tax rate between run ranges between 5% to 7% I will just be going on the high of those okay all you should go on average is up to you what you want to do you just can't set things by postcode weeks is only allowed you to do country and state and that's as specific as it lets you get okay if we click on advanced the only other option you have is narrow tax on digital products and if you're selling a physical product that's obviously not much of an option for you so setting tax rates and setting shipping rates we'll go over this one more time is by country and then you select specifically what state you are after it's not even city you can't go as far a city to postcode or that it's just country through to city that's our country through to state and then you select the shipping and the type of tax you want to set and a blanket tax rate for the particular state you're after and a blanket shipping rate for the particular state you are after always make sure you hit save and if you want to you know when you come back you can edit Florida you know what's there you can go through and add them all in as you need to I hope this tutorial has helped clarify some things about adding in shipping and taxing for specific locations here in your wicks online store if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me either through YouTube or Facebook wherever you're watching this video and alternatively you can jump onto the WIC support and inspiration group and get chatting with us there cuz we're always happy to help
