But, Wix’s free plan comes with a few limitations. For starters, you can’t connect a custom domain. Instead of having a domain like ‘www.yestotech.com’ connected to your website, you’ll have a domain like
‘https://mlotaif.wixsite.com/mysite’ instead. Definitely not easy to remember. The other downside is that your free Wix website will come with ads, as you can see from this header bar that says ‘this site was designed with the Wix.com website builder. Create your website today’. Definitely not professional, and the last thing you want is for your site’s visitors to leave your site, and access another one. Ok. So this gets us to Wix’s
premium plans, which you can easily upgrade to anytime. Wix offers 5 premium plans: Connect Domain, Combo, Unlimited, eCommerce and VIP. The Connect Domain plan is Wix’s most basic plan, and comes with 1GB bandwidth, 500MB storage, allows you to connect a domain unlike the free plan, and has premium support. However, just like the free plan, it still displays Wix brand ads. The Combo plan is intended for personal use, and comes with 2GB
bandwidth, 3GB storage, allows you to connect a domain, has premium support, and here are its main distinctions: it gives you a free domain for a year, allows you to remove Wix ads, and add a customized favicon. The Unlimited plan is suitable for entrepreneurs and freelancers, and comes with unlimited bandwidth, 10GB storage, allows you to connect a domain, has premium support, gives you a free domain for a year, allows you to remove Wix ads and
add a customized favicon, and here are its main distinctions: it comes with the form builder app (a $48 value) and with the site booster app (a $60 value) The eCommerce plan is best for small businesses, and comes with unlimited bandwidth, 20GB storage, allows you to connect a domain, has premium support, gives you a free domain for a year, allows you to remove Wix ads, add a customized favicon, comes with the form builder app (a $48 value) and
with the site booster app (a $60 value), and here is its main distinction: it allows you to have an online store. The VIP plan includes everything from the eCommerce plan, namely unlimited bandwidth, 20GB storage, allows you to connect a domain, has premium support, gives you a free domain for a year, allows you to remove Wix ads, add a customized favicon, comes with the form builder app (a $48 value) and with the site booster app (a $60 value),
allows you to have an online store, and here are its main distinctions: it comes with 10 email campaigns per month and you’ll get a priority response from customer service. You should upgrade to the Connect Domain plan if you’re looking for the absolute cheapest option, don’t mind Wix advertising on your site, and you just want to connect a custom domain. You should upgrade to the Combo plan if you want to remove all Wix brand ads from your site and you want to connect a custom domain. You should upgrade to the Unlimited plan if you need more
bandwidth due to the great amount of traffic your site is receiving or if you plan on adding items to your site that take longer to upload, such as videos. You should also check if Wix is having a promotion at the time you wish to upgrade, since oftentimes the Unlimited plan is cheaper than the Combo plan, at least for the first year of use. You should upgrade to the eCommerce plan if you wish to add an online store to your website to sell your
products and services. You should upgrade to the VIP plan if fast customer service and priority support is important to you, though the customer support from the other plans is also good in my experience.
