WIX pop-up Window Update

hey guys it’s Kyle again I just wanted to do an update to my post about the clickable buttons that open up into pop ups where you can view photos and services or whatever information you want to detail and the pop up so I’m kind of nearing the completion of the website here along with a very flat design very minimalistic for load speeds and you know things like that but really I just like a nice clean flat minimal design but being flat and
minimal doesn’t necessarily mean you have to sacrifice you know good design or quality and I usually make up for that with you know the use of really good images I spend a lot of time doing research on my images that I don’t think a lot of people spend that much time on it but I focus on it pretty heavily so anyways I just wanted to do an update here on the pop-up windows now I didn’t really go over the use of anchor anchor points on the page or
anything like that and if you guys are at home trying it right now you’ll you’ll kind of start to see that whenever you get you know down towards the middle of the page doing a pop-up it can be kind of tricky and you have to use anchors in order to get you know kind of a seamless pop-up experience and I can I can show you real quick what I’m talking about here so if I scroll down to alter design here I’m just gonna scroll down and I’m actually
going to leave this top part blank or I’m sorry I’m gonna leave this top part right here visible that way you can see that whenever I click on view designs here you can see that it’ll actually move up because my anchor point is set right here near the bottom threshold of that top image if that makes sense so I’m gonna click on it and you’ll see that it’ll actually move up because I have an anchor point on the page that this button is pointing to
so I’m gonna go ahead and click it you’ll see what I’m talking about okay so it’s it’s kind of hard to tell with this image but you get the point I’ll do a better one here actually and then if you notice when I right-click back it solved I’ll leave it here again I want to right-click back it actually took me to be at the top of the anchor basically so this right here will be a little bit better because it’s got a darker background and you’ll be
able to see it with the opacity of the white overlay and see how it’s snapped right to the top of the anchor there and then I close it and I’ll take name right it’ll basically be seamless from there because it’s gonna redirect me back to another anchor so if I do it right here you’re not gonna see any adjustment at all it’s gonna be essentially seamless so just just some you know some things to consider another thing to consider would be and I
didn’t really go over in the last video would be to whenever you duplicate this page here this s our services page in my case where you duplicate this page here I did I did talk about getting rid of some of the unnecessary content for the page that you’re pointing to with this button but also get rid of the that anchors on the page that you’re pointing to and also get rid of if you are going to leave you know some elements on the page to kind of
create the illusion that you know it’s really just a pop-up window at least get rid of the hyperlinks that the buttons are attached to really this will this will cause issues with kind of whatever Google’s indexing your site this could cause issues with you know your your silo or your linking structure and it just it just it’s not very clean and doesn’t index well and it could cause a little confusion so anyways I guess one last thing here would
be that the bottom the bottom of your page is it’s kind of similar to the top there’s not too much transition or moving up and down at it it can it can look pretty seamless so you see it didn’t really move at all go ahead and close this and you’ll see it’ll go right back to where it was I kind of had a a loading issue there and but let’s try it again that was a little bit better so the top and the bottom you know they’re going to transition very
well but the you know your middle sections are gonna be a little tricky so you got to work with your anchor links anyways guys I hope that helped you know if you guys have any questions just leave a comment in the box below and you know I try to answer them the best I can Thanks
