go hi everybody thank you so much for joining us today we're super excited to have you here today is our first live session of the e-commerce of the week's e-commerce school so we're very happy to have you here with us so in this live session we're going to talk about how to create a product catalog and then how to customize your wix store and then later on we'll move into the more engaging part where we're going to review on live websites of wix stores users just like you and then we're gonna wrap up with some live questions and answers from you so feel free to ask us uh leave your questions in the comments and we will see them and we will try to address some of them we'll do the best trend to answer a lot of them and we also have a few weak stores um people helping us answering all your questions and people from support from customer care who's gonna be there and answer you so feel free to ask everything you want to know in the comments and we'll do the best to answer it so with me i have your assaf and she kid from the wic stores team hi and we also have uh we're very honored to have birdie here with us birdie is uh he's uh he has his own agency and he helps wix merchants to help business uh e-commerce websites and magic manage everything through weeks so thank you guys for being here with us and uh let's start chicken actually i'll give it over to a soft i'm sorry yeah it's a good handover all right just a couple of words before we dive into the product catalog aspects and a few words about wix stores and so the e-commerce platform that we're offering is powered by insights from more than 500 000 merchants worldwide um we're also super excited to have completed and a huge overall of the online store into a professional e-commerce platform that has uh multi-channel serials uh advanced management and analytics and other cool stuff and we're also enjoying uh super fast growth so you are probably aware that over the past few months we've all experienced or we've all been part of you know a global event and part of the corona virus effects is that retail stores are now going all in on e-commerce so it's exciting times to see uh you know the whole world now uh fast-forwarding into e-commerce um and i think you know what chiquette will tell you in the next few minutes is critical for your success if you're just starting out and of course there are some more advanced tips for people who are already selling online um so without any further delays here check it the floor is yours thank you very much um so before i begin i want to start by saying that i'm gonna walk you through the setup of your online store um we'll go through adding your first product to your store and setting up the product page in your storefront um and then uh at eagle collection of course i will explain what is uh everything you're about to see um and of course as real mentioned if you have any questions we are here to answer invite so let's begin so what is a product page um if you ever bought online you probably have seen this page this is the page where you find the product you're about to buy and you're going to buy it so the product page should be the page where you see all the information about the product uh you should have a clear call to action which is a button by the way um that tells your customers what to do with the product either to edit to cart or to buy it now um by the way the difference between them is uh adding to cart adds it to a cart and then you can add multiple products while by now uh get you get your product directly to the checkout um the pages are very important probably if you practice any marketing um and lead people to your site it would probably be to the product page so this is the most important page on your site so you need to make sure it's presentable with great images and walk through how how to create this page so let's continue so the do's and don'ts of the product page um well it might be obvious what i'm going to say but what do you need to include in your product page you need to include a name and the images of your products high quality of course um the price if you have a sell price also include that a description a very descriptive description of your product um you need to tell all the details and and make sure that when someone comes to buy from you knows exactly what he's buying what are the dimensions what it is made of um also as i mentioned before uh add to cart and buy now to choose between or add both of them to your product page uh which will drive sales um to your business um a wishlist button this is a relatively new product um wishlist is a is a heart button in your product page will allow your customers to add uh their favorite products to a list where they can revisit later and buy it um related products this is a best practice in the industry where you have a gallery at the bottom of the page usually which products are related to to the product that's being presented right now and they say that it's an optional but i say it's a must you should have shipping and return policies in your product page yes in each and every one of them because when a customer comes to your product page you want to know this specific product or your product will ship to his location and uh of course if you accept this product back if something goes wrong so make sure you always include it but not to include so as i mentioned before we have the add to cart button the buy button and the heart button of the wishlist but i wouldn't add any other button which are call to actions to your product page um they will they will direct your customers to a place where you don't want them to go you need to make sure that they will go straight to checkout or to your cart because you want to drive sales you don't want to drive lights you don't want to drive unless this is your business um you want to make sure they're buying your your product uh another important thing is not to include irrelevant information in your product page uh don't just overwhelm them with a lot of details that will not help them make a decision if you see a lot of texts usually nobody buys if there is too much text to take in so think what would you buy when you what what will make you buy when you see a product page um another thing is irrelevant products so as i mentioned before we have uh the relay the products gallery um so make sure it contains the products that relate to this specific product and not something that is out of context and lastly fake reviews um if you add a review app to your site make sure you don't write your own reviews or take reviews from somewhere around the internet because everybody will know this is fake um and it will eventually damage your business and will not drive sales so don't do it let's continue so how do i add my first product um you need to go to to the dashboard and don't worry we'll have we will have a walkthrough through it but in your back office you'll see a product tab in your store products and there that's where you're going to add your product thanks um there are few options in week stories if you're not yet familiar with our products so you are able to upload both a digital product and a physical product so what's the difference a physical product is shirt jewelry toys um whatever is physical and you can ship somewhere this is where you this is what you'll want to to create a digital product is like an ebook if you're selling ebooks online this will be the preferable preferable type to to create so use the digital by uh file product we also allow you to upload a list of products so if you're coming from another um another store and you want to upload all your products at once you can use a csv upload um to to add it to your site and have everything so let's uh walk you through on how to add a preset called product continue so i'm heading into my dashboard and i'll click on the store products once it's open i will choose between a digital or physical product here i want to add a physical product so i have a toy store so i'm adding a toy robot to my site this is where i'm going to write the name the robot then i'm going to add images i can add this up to i think up to 15 images so i'll choose three i have the yellow gray one and the red one the cool thing is that you can rearrange your images to make sure that the one you want displays main one you can move it to be the main one next i'm going to add a ribbon telling my customers that this is a new product so i'll add a new ribbon the price uh this is the price i'm going to charge for my robot 15 next i'm heading to the description so this is where i'll write all the information needed for my customers to know what is this product what does it contain what it is made of uh be as descriptive but not as too much as possible uh next is the info section um this is where i'll write the return policy or the shipping policy and all the information needed for the customer to know what are your store policies this will be presented in each and every one of your product pages next is the custom text field custom textview will allow your customers to add a custom text let's say for engraving or on your products i will not edit here um product options i want to add colors to my robot as you've seen before so i'm going to add three colors i'm going to add red and then i'll choose which red i want next i'm going to add black because i have it like rabbit also i can choose whatever shade of black i want and lastly i'm going to add the yellow robot okay so i've added all my options now i want to connect each option to the image that's relevant to this option so the red robot will get a red image black one will get a black image and of course the yellow one will get a yellow image and once the customer chooses what options he wants to buy this will be automatically changed when he's uh choosing his option i can choose whether i want to have it in stock out of stock or track inventory for one two three um then i will add the surcharge for each product so i want to charge five extra five dollars for the red extra six and extra seven for the yellow and this will be automatically displayed on my live site okay and that's it i've created my first product let's continue so um the product page the product that i just created will be displayed in my storefront automatically once i finished and clicked save um so make sure uh you choose the i will walk you through right now on how to choose the the right cloud and how to customize your product page um and make sure that everything you set up will be exactly what you want it to be so let's head to how to customize your product page in your storefront so i'll head to the editor and then i'll click on the product page on settings i can choose what layout i want so you can see i have multiple layers to choose from i'm going to choose spotlight because i think this complements my product the best um i can i have more uh customization options like uh putting the thumbnails on the right or maybe changing it to dots i like the bottom ones so i'll use this ones i can also change the ratio um these options allows me to choose what happens when i add to cart when i click add to cart so you can i chose to stay on page when someone eats adds to cart i can also control what is being shown next is the wishlist the heart button that i already enabled on my site so i can also design it to my liking with my color scheme i also can change the whole background borders product details and buttons everything designable uh in the product page next thank you okay so how do we build trust um while building the product page so we just seen how we are going to design it and how we are going to build the product page but it's very important to keep in mind these few tips so first of all uh use as many product images as you as you can from all angles so you can see here on the right you can see it from the top from the right and left i can see it uh um in usage uh so make sure you be as as much as your descriptive in the description be descriptive descriptive in your uh images so show a lot of product images uh next is the quality it's very important to have high quality especially if you're using zoom people are going to zoom in on your products they're going to see it on multiple devices and they are going to dig into your products so take good images and show them on your site the scale is very important you want to make sure while taking images of your product to put it next to something else which makes it which make the customer know exactly what size they are going to get so if it's a ring put it next to a coin if it's a i don't know something that fits on your hand put it next to a hand which is scalable uh also use lifestyle images you want to to convey what it feels like using your products and who are you aiming for so when i see this lady i feel like i can relate to her this is my lifestyle and and i wanna i wanna buy this product because this is who i am um and lastly give all the relevant details to your products so as i mentioned before be descriptive but um just keep focus on what's important and don't just uh add everything that comes to mind next okay so we've created our course product now we need to take all this product and put it in a in a collection so let's see what is a collection so a collection page is where you combine all your products into a single place single category let's say um and you can call it whatever you want uh for example here i created a page for ages two to three so i combined all the games that i think that will match this time at this sorry this age and you can use whatever you want this will help on search engines this will help customers to navigate through your site and it will also show your expertise in this uh in this area so you know best what your products are for and who they are made for so make sure that you put it in the right context next thing so where do i find it um just as we found in the back office the product page you can the product section uh just underneath it you can find the collection section thank you so uh when adding collection um adding a collection will help your customers to find what they are looking for uh so you can you can either use it by type so let's say i want to add a t-shirt collection or a long sleeve collection um by product type or i can add something like best sellers or new arrivals and uh keep focus on specific products that i want to promote on my site so i can put it on the on the main page of my site or maybe an inner page uh and lastly you can add as many products as you want to each collection so and and you can edit multiple times to multiple collections so don't worry adding it wherever you want inside your store let's go and see how do i add a collection to my store so i'm going to my back office and i'll click on add a collection i'll name my collection ages 223 as we seen before and i'm going to choose what products i want to include what matches this this uh age frame so these products are most relevant to ages 2 2 3. i can choose as many as i want i can see all the products in my store and go through one by one i can reorder and see what i want to be what i want to have first and second i'm going to add a collection um image to make sure this one is specifically for ages two to three and that's it i've created my first collection now the editor asked me to go to site and add this collection so i'll do that it's a good suggestion now i'm heading to my editor to the front of the of my store this will take a little bit okay and as it loads up um i will see my collection and a page will be added automatically as you can see here the page will be automatically added to my store um and i'll see it as uh here there you go ages 223 and he asked me if i want to add a new page i chose to add a new page so let's create this page with this new collection excellent now i have a new page for ages 2 to 3 with all my products i can customize it i can click on settings and just add whatever i want and make it my own i can also change the collection once i open the gallery settings so let's change it to edges to one to two or maybe change it to all products and this can be done both from the front and from the back i can also play with the layout of the gallery and the settings and you can see here the image ratio and the direction and of course i can play with the number of columns and rows that will be on my site i can add and remove some fields and i can choose to between load more button or pagination which one i like most i can also add an add to cart button straight from a gallery which is recently been added i will highly recommend when using all products adding filters to your gallery this will help your customers go through your site and find what they are looking for also i add a search by drop down to my site and there you go we have all our products with the filters and sorting and an add to cart for my gallery and i'm ready to go okay so let's say i i've just added all my collections and i didn't choose to go directly to my to my uh editor to edit so there is another option for you to create your own page and drag there uh another gallery so this is from the you can see it here from the settings um i'll show you a step by step as we go forward okay so um when i display on storefront i'll display my shop page i'll call it uh the collection page is is very important to include uh subcategories um in your menu as you can see here a little bit smaller above but i will show it a bit later you can see that i have the shop and then i have edges one two two and ages two two three with the collection i created earlier also it's very important to add filters and sorting as i showed before this will help customers to find what they're looking for easy faster and they will give them better experience in their storefront so let's see how we create a collection page outside of the back office so i'll head to my editor and in my editor i will add a new page just whatever page i want just a new one this will add a blank page i will move it underneath the shop page so it will be as we've seen before and i'll add ages one two two there's my new page then i'm going to drag a new gallery so i'll go to my store then to my store elements where i can find all my galleries and other products by the way and i'll drag it here take a little bit down and i want to add a headline making sure that my customers know what page they are landing on so i'll add the headline at the top of the page and i'll say ages one two two now this is just uh all my products so i need to make sure that the collection is the right one so i'll change it to ages one to two and that's it i created a page with uh the relevant products and it sits where i want it to sit underneath the shop page apply publish it to my site as you can see and then i'm going to go to my live site and you can see how it feels for the customer so i'll have the shop page and underneath it i have both my ages one to two and pages uh ages two two three it will help them navigate more easily and find whatever they need to find thank you oh thank you shaken thank you um so uh just a few tips for you to when you create your gallery so the best practices for you is um add all your collections as pages as you've seen before so have a generic shop page with all your products and add filters and sort this is where they'll usually land but also also add um subcategories submit pages to your menu with the specific collections uh for ages or for whatever is relevant for a store so let's say you wanna you sell both t-shirts and pants i have one for t-shirts one for pens for easy navigation for your store um also use the best layout for your images make sure that this one fits your needs so play with the settings play with the layout play with the naming whatever is right for your store um and of course uh if it's a good fit for your site i will recommend using ethocard from gallery which is a relatively new product but um is highly recommended when you want to help customers add products faster and navigate through your site thank you thank you so much again it was insightful and i have to tell you that we have tons of questions which is great please keep asking we are doing our best to answer them so i'm sorry if we won't be able to get to all of them but uh we appreciate it and uh we will have more webinars just so you know we already have set up for for a few for like next like tomorrow gonna start with reviewing your websites so thank you for those that uh agreed to that we use those and birdie is gonna start presenting and uh giving his feedback from his years of experience working on wix websites we'll do we'll do so i'm gonna share my screen right now so you can see a lot of what's going on in terms of e-commerce and the various users that are utilizing the wix platform now um just real quick and thank you very much by the way shakira from the realtor um for inviting me uh i'm here in la i have a small agency that focuses primarily on design development and growing e-commerce sites wix has been fundamental i mean i would say even crucial for the growth not only of our agency but also of many small startups who specifically now during this crisis are able to on a very small budget on a quick turnaround be able to be online and competing shoulder to shoulder uh against uh very large platforms and being able to make a a nice income so thank you very much for having me today uh i'm gonna review a couple sites actually uh four sites here and uh i would like to before i do that and i hope it's okay um ariel that i i talk about this i want to review are you sharing your screen right now yeah just are you seeing my screen and let's see are we seeing where this screen i think perfect that's fine all right so proceed uh so basically um i'm going to be covering five important things i think everybody needs to know this when you're doing e-commerce please please please make sure you have these five things completely covered number one photography of your products number two the story the story the story of your of your product and who you are and why you're online specifically now we're all shopping online right we're all kind of confined to our home so therefore we're all online shopping all the sites kind of look the same they all kind of have the same structure abc becomes monotonous and boring don't get you know stuck in a a bunny trail where you basically are just completely uh uninterested in the shopping experience so let's make that unique number three the structure um you may remember the old word you know um location location location that's the key well today it's all about content content content so the structure of that content that real estate if you will is the most important thing for you uh and number four uh speaking of content is your social media integration and how you should be in a uniform centralized platform and number five to be absolutely sure you're responsive and you're mobile 63 to 64 of your buyers in in most categories are on your mobile device so with that note i hope it's okay i'm gonna jump into um these are websites to stop you uh they're saying that we're talking very fast so if you don't mind to slow it a little bit i definitely will i have this tendency uh it's it's uh well 10 30 in the morning i had too many cups of coffee so i will tone it down i forgive me uh we're going to review some wonderful sites that have been posted here on wix and um i'd like to give you some feedback so the first one is from a designer called um coda uh she's from estonia and what i love about this site and i had the opportunity of previewing it just before the call is um kata didn't follow this usual format right she didn't just go into product action call by now how boring no she really really put a nice emphasis in taking what really great pictures so as you can see these are not stock pictures these are pictures that she took you have to invest in a little bit on this you guys you have to get a good camera or you got to get a photographer to take really good product pictures or videos and um and what's great about this is she she really used her artist her artistic approach to encompass the products inside a nice shape so already there i'm already interested this is something that tells me it's right here handmade it's original it's recycled fabrics wow what a great action call all over uh for us to be engaged with one one little critique i'd like to make about this site if i may is try to uh if anything use like the logo could have been maybe a transparent background maybe you know that could have been slightly animated try and use some of that to enhance your your engagement um but i do like the fact that you also put some really cool products right up in front you know for people to shop you could maybe integrate a blog your personal social media in here to really make that home page we talk a lot about an upside down pyramid right which means that anything that happens on the top of your page then drills down into the interior pages so you want to make sure that you bring as much content to the forefront before they start you know driving into the interior pages but here um she katri actually did a really good job in developing categories she has a wonderful collection and what's interesting is you know it's easy to use and she's made a good effort in taking really good quality pictures as you can see so i did the shopping experience is beautiful it's organized and i think that she's offering um a quick quick easy way of shopping uh and i do appreciate the fact that she can also offer two multiple languages which a lot of us can appreciate these days we are global so another site that i found really interesting was raspberry field exclusive uh raspberry fields uh is also another designer um this designer has actually uh you know put her best foot forward which is very nice she does beautiful design work in terms of home decor and what's interesting here is that she's able to showcase some of her products and she's actually also put certain categories in there one thing that i i saw which i think was beautiful was she actually has organized things by sizes and charts which is really cool you know she's giving a lot of information a little note if i may like right now she is using images but really what she could do is also use um line items which can be actually found in the wix uh add-on tools which could actually be html ready which what that means is on mobile it's kind of tough to read this on mobile it actually becomes expandable and retractable therefore it's easier to see what those items are now what is cool about this is that she also went to the effort of putting a lot more in terms of sizing and everything and i feel that this could have been better accomplished through the attributes that we have available for you on the e-commerce site so just so you know that that is there for you and that's just um some positive critique i'd like to give you but i really think that overall uh it's such a nice fresh look and feel you can tell you're a designer you put that right up front i would also if i don't mind just when you are doing images i would try to be a little bit more careful with your photoshop make sure that you're you know you've got the contours and the uh i see first of all sorry to bother you to stop you again but um this question coming a lot a lot of times um this webinar is recorded meaning that it's going to be available right here and we will send it to you so don't worry if you miss something it will be live here on this exact same page and we'll email it to you one thing about another question that about her website is how do you create those sizing charts well that's a good question i i believe she did this outside of of wix but we do have the capabilities of doing it in the wix editor as well um it's actually called um line grid if i'm not mistaken or grid it's an app that you go into the uh into your wix editor and you grab that and you're able to add those functionalities in there so basically you say you want three columns five columns or ten columns and you can sort of like an embedded excel form that you can sort of like categorize and and show people the available um sizing and options and well and the different um these are outside of your attributes mind you attributes are done inside of your cart not really outside of it which is the case here so what i'm trying to say is when you're looking at the size chart that she's making available she's really giving this customized approach which is unusual but it's um something that would look really nice if we actually were able to break it down in a um in a different format than you see here just um just something that we could do going forward i would like to margin both of us um so if she also wants to use these specific images i will maybe consider adding them to the product page so if it's a product for men add it as an image inside and then customers can zoom in inside the product images itself um and it's also uh very it relates to the product so this is kind of the information that i want to find in my product page there is another option by the way to added uh to add a table to your description um so this is another option for for them to display it inside the product page sorry i saw you thank you nothing to be sorry about those are great comments bertie if you can go one second back to the home page and we see this a lot with you know designers who do really beautiful storefronts but at least for me one thing that is missing is the main call to action here so either shop now or something definitely here would grab a lot of attention and another thing and and we see it all the time and again you have to help the users or the shoppers know exactly what you're aiming for them to do another thing if you can hover over the shop and click on men's apparel so this is also something i ran across so if we don't have any products to show here right now let's take it off the menu it's a it's a you know we're wasting attention and it never looks good so if chaquette spoke a little bit earlier about trust i don't think that helps to generate that trust is displaying uh empty pages so let's just uh remember to review all the pages when we go live and as e-commerce websites tend to you know get redesigned and have new stocks and new products coming in frequently do make sure that you yourself and have somebody else go over every page it's always great to have another set of eyes reviewing your website oh yeah absolutely and also i have to say maybe you you might want to forego also putting a counter on your site it's great that you're getting great visitorship but um not necessarily something that we need to advertise i think that you know counters are perhaps a little bit older school and you're dating your site design by doing that um just um just a little um feedback on that but let's jump to uh sls apparel this is an interesting site that actually um when working with the owner of this site this was um done now during the corona crisis and uh wanted to give back to the community and decided to build a uh an apparel line that would raise funds and give back to the frontliners people in hospitals and uh et cetera that are are fighting this crisis so we uh put together this site in less than a day uh what's interesting here is again you know the use of photography as you can see this is original photography they took the time to bring that into the into the e-commerce site they integrated their social media i think you can see that there is a lot of people participating and being a part of the of this drive of this fundraising appeal so i think that they did a great job here with that and one of the things as well that i think is very cool is also the fact that we've got an action call and i think that that also is important to bring us right into the shopping uh experience we don't we have a certain amount of seconds to grab someone's experience and we want to do it in maybe eight or ten seconds so bringing them right into the shopping collection is also a good idea also try to remember that you want to sell your story and why you're doing it and so that's important to also bring that factor uh if it's not clear enough but how you how you portray your items and how you um you price them is very important i think that as you can see here we've got the availability of uh choosing various sizes and different words so these are the attributes we were talking about before you can have different words on the item that you're buying and i think that's a welcome tier so not just one or two tiers to your shopping experience but offer more tiers into what you're buying on the same shopping cart site that i'd like to mention is called akumari akumari has a beautiful site for children's gear and apparel and this one here has an interesting design look you can see it's been branded pretty well you've got a nice logo they've kept the color consistency uh the same uh they also offer this shop now experience right on top right above that fold which is going to give a person a direct access to the collection when you take a look at the collection itself you can see that the pictures have been professionally made or almost professionally made you can tell that there is attention and care to the way it's been defined instructions of caring for the product and the items so there's quite a lot of good things on this site which i feel bring this to a higher level almost a commercial grade website and i can see it scaling from here you can see that there is that uh need and here as you can see you know they they're bringing a little bit about what this company is about they they're defining what their brand is making very nice customized gear and a pair of children they've integrated their social media i think that's key if anything uh i believe you guys are going to be talking a little bit about this too but don't just focus on one social media channel to sell think of others and many other channels as well to sell your products and that's important to always embed it in a centralized platform which is your website so and what's really cool about here this site is the footer they did not forget to also give a person a sense of security they're not just buying this from some one off the web anywhere they're putting a clear uh return policy in terms of conditions they are clearly saying you know we accept these payment forms uh and the contact form you know if you got any problems with customer service and is needed you know this is how to contact us so really really want to give you produce for this website being that it's properly structured informative and secure and um i really think that's a wonderful way to go what do you guys think so absolutely love this site i think we all loved it and also the thing that i like the most here is the images uh sort of this display different attitudes by the girls wearing the swimwear we can see now you know this is the more typical smiling girls but here you know we see three different uh attitudes in the same uh image and for me i have a daughter so i can uh promise you that when you go to the ocean they're not always happy and smiling so it's a great way to generate trust with prospective shoppers is to sort of walk us through the feeling that we already know and i love this and and i don't see it often enough so kudus um to whoever put those images there i absolutely love it yeah and i love the chat feature here right i mean it's so amazing that they're able to integrate their their chatting mechanism to offer that immediate availability for questions and i think that's also very key and an ascend has been a terrific addition to a lot of the products that we um that we work on um i would like to pitch in just uh go to the product page uh i've seen that there is a single call to action uh the add to cart button i think that this is the kind of size that i would like to add to favorites the the items that i like so i would maybe suggest adding here a wish list the heart that i've shown before um which will help customers to save for later maybe to show to your daughter exactly what you want to buy or what are the options um so this is my recommendation add a wishlist to your site then also you have a members area which will allow your customers to log in to check out faster so the combination of all of this will create a better experience and a returning experience for your customers they will want to come back to where they feel comfortable buying exactly completely agree with you i i see a lot of questions about adding videos to the product uh images check it can you explain a little yeah sure you can upload videos uh the same as you upload your um your images to your product page as i've shown before when once i click add images i could look for a video and upload it um you can see there which uh types of videos we support but uh the most common ones we do support so you can add whatever you want to your product page perfect videos are great we all know them from you know from the big commercial um fashion websites asos and others and but be sure to upload quality videos especially with videos i mean with images you can you know you you might be able to cut corners here and there with videos this has to be done right oh yeah oh yeah exactly i was wondering if we should also mention people who offer uh non-products but maybe services um we also reviewed this site before if it's okay for a quick minute um one here actually um does sell services such as online services or you know downloadable um services so there's also a very interesting way of adding comments and ratings to that service as well and um i feel this is also very important since most of us are now you know delivering a lot of our services online this is also a key factor that it doesn't have to be a physical product right it could be a product that's done virtually as well and another thing about uh reviews bernie i think reviews are a great way to um create more trust and sort of display how other users or shoppers are already enjoying this product and but just like content reviews you have to commit because it's always fishy when you see like a one five-star review for each product you really want to display um you know this feeling that a lot of people have already purchased there and that their reviews are as jacquette said before authentic we never want to feel fishy about reviews because then uh the you know the the online store altogether gets uh branded in our mind as something we may want to keep our distance from and bertie i wanted to ask you a question um if you can go back to the um to the store you were building in 24 hours oh this one yeah the social distancing so many merchants work with agencies to improve their online store and to build their e-commerce business what are the main challenges that you face when somebody has an idea and he wants or she wants to put it into practice and build an online store sure so you know we the first question that we always ask is you know what's your value proposition what is it that makes you different from literally millions and millions of different e-commerce sites i mean if you really want to make money on this and i assume that's why you're online you've got to stand out i mean i described how monotonous things have been going through everybody's shopping experience these days from whatever it is that we're buying how are you going to make that different so um the biggest problem that we've had is photography uh people either they don't have the equipment or they don't know where to get a photographer obviously they can do a quick search and get one but prices range and vary from all sorts of um of ranges but you don't have to get a very expensive photographer you can just have a really good camera something that will give you high definition a nice close-up feature and some composition in that camera so really that's been the number one problem the number the second biggest problem has also been getting the uh definition of that product you know what is that product exactly not just size color and materials but also um what is it about how um what is it for or uh who is really interested in buying this product because by knowing that then in the back end the designer can actually build the schema or if you want the structured data to also market that product it's not just about building a product putting it online don't forget there's a optimization site in the back end that we need to also build into it so that it's properly optimized and google will crawl it or facebook or you know other places as well that will interact with that product um very very good very great great explanation um i have a lot of people asking me um like us i'm sorry about the review apps how do you get those reviews up maybe chicken you want to answer that yes absolutely so we've recently added a new app to our app market um you can find it both in your editor and in your back office uh it's called kudu buzz this is for reviews um we'll also by the way add other review apps soon so you can add it to your site and customers can uh update their uh reviews for each product or for the whole site or whatever widget you want to use uh you can find it there sounds good um let's take another question here um so i have what is the best way it's a good one to make a good first impression when a customer visits your shop page for good reason that's a first impression and that is you know a critical moment i mean and there are a few angles to play with it but i think all relates to clarity of concept so for me i really want the shopper to know exactly um what what i want them to do and the best way to do it and again we've seen some examples here with a clear call to action and some you know let us play a little bit before we see that by now or um order online or any other call to action that will sort of drive us lower in the um in the funnel and so i think for me the best way is uh when you have a concept of your home page go ahead put it into practice and then put it on what i call a mobile phone take a screenshot of your home page and send it to 10 people 10 of your friends could be family whoever you want if you get more than a couple of answers that are you know far and away from what you were thinking then um your first impression isn't clear as it should be and of course there's one in there who may interpret it a little bit differently than what you intended that's cool but if you start getting three four five different answers then you're not clear as you want to be and you really want to be clear on this i would also like to say one thing if i may um don't put a zillion products on your website some people come with way too many products focus on 10 20 really good ones the ones that will sell the most and focus even on those maybe five just to make sure you highlight the most effective ones because um it's very hard to market that and you know and to make it so that your website can present it in a showcased professional way you want to focus on five really good products and have fun with it make it fun make it unique and stand out that's what i would do totally i agree um let's take another question um okay there's a question here about new features can you tell us a little bit about new features coming from wix stores chicken absolutely so so first of all we already released a few new features so i've mentioned the wishlist wishlist is the option uh to add a heart to your product page and it will allow your customers to save products for later um in a page on your site where they can revisit and edit straight to their cart and buy it another cool new feature is a buy now button buy now button will allow your customers to just have a one click to take the product straight to checkout without going through the cart and completing their their uh purchase much faster and another thing we just released uh two cool new features both in our gallery um and in our slider gallery which are two different components uh where you can add uh products to cart straight from the gallery so you have the button of add to cart for each and every one of them um and then uh customers will just go through and edit one by one instead of going back and forth between a few pages um and i highly recommend using this product especially now when a lot of websites in the groceries and uh and like these types of uh stores open up uh this is the best practice to use this mechanism so shaken just a little confusion here when what kind of products are best for add to cart versus what kind of products are best for buy now that's a great question so first of all you can have both of them on your product page you don't have to choose between them but um i would recommend uh having the the buy now button if you usually get a single product order or if you have a product with very high price so this means that usually they won't need the cart in the middle of their purchase they will just need to to go straight to checkout with this specific product um and lastly um also if you have a single product on your site so if you don't need an add to cart you need just a buy now so you can hide the add to cart leave the the buying out there and just uh help them check out as fast as possible and of course increase your conversion all right and a lot of people are asking about the related products oh yeah i love this feature personally um so this is a very easy to use uh feature um you just need to drag the slider gallery um or if you have like both options either to take the slider gallery or add the directly the related products you can choose their their related products option um and you probably think how does the mechanism work because you just drag a drag and drop it and it works uh you have a related product gallery so um i would recommend uh putting your products into collections this is the mechanism behind this product so if you don't have connection collections on your site it will probably show all all your products like uh randomly but it will be all your products so if you want to make sure that this is really related to your products uh so use what we just told you in this webinar create collections to your site and then this plug-and-play will work just like magic cool thank you thank you so much i'm seeing questions about social media and how to link it any of you want to answer that so um social media is obviously a critical part of e-commerce in 2020 um as i said at the beginning wix now offers a complete e-commerce solution so part of that is selling on different channels and like marketplaces and social media where uh users spend their time anyways and you sort of have this opportunity now um to present your product catalog there so we have facebook shop integration and we can you can upload your entire catalog into facebook um this is great and we've seen and you'll get a lot of people do this and and so you you easily gain another channel from which you can sell without the hassle and need to do it manually and so it's a great way to extend your store into different places uh bernie you wanted to jump in there well yeah you know it's funny because you will be hearing a lot about social media and being able to sell on social media platforms and and um it's a good thing it's a really good thing um but unfortunately when you get kind of like pinned to one place one platform you're neglecting a huge amount of potential outside of that platform you know so what i'm trying to say is when you are perhaps on a organic or on an independent website such as this one on wix you're able to work with different variables and different verticals and bring them into one place so in this one place you're not only able to do all your e-commerce activity and processing all the orders but you're also able to send your newsletters you don't have to go through third-party applications like mailchimp and all that to send all your marketing correspondence you can have everything into one place and you can also manage your uh like you just saw your chat alerts your interaction with your clients uh your billing um and of course your optimization your seo which is absolutely crucial when it comes to being shoulder to shoulder on a localized search query so it's really nice to have that encompassed element that wix offers without having to be in one vertical only that is kind of keeping you sort of like this when you should be much more global and available great thank you thank you so much i want to add another question that i'm seeing people asking about drop shipping and i know shaquid you're totally okay so um we'll have a whole live session about it yes in a few words okay so just a few words for the one of you who don't know what drop shipping is yeah i'll sum it up um drop shipping uh allows you to sell some some other somebody else's products on your site uh without your customers knowing that you sell someone else's product and the seller will be the one sending this product so you you're kind of the middleman um selling someone else's product um there isn't a real ask me because i used to be a dropshipper in my past um and this is a very good way to start a business uh easily and dive in to e-commerce uh we've recently added the model list to our um application uh market uh you have another session specifically on it uh where she the ceo of models will present the product but in a nutshell you can add products from all these different suppliers or from aliexpress which is a new integration over there and sell their products and have the whole integration to your store and by the way you can also sell your own products with a drop shipping product so you don't need to have only a drop shipping site you can have the the full experience can you talk a little bit about print on demand too yeah sure we have printf and printful on our app market um and you can uh just upload whatever image you want i know that i have a few friends using them uh they just create these beautiful images uploaded to a bathing suit or a towel or whatever they want um and they sell the product and once the product is ready and sorry once the product is sold the product is being made by these companies and then they are being shipped so this is a very easy way as well just like drop you into start your own business uh with a minimum effort from your side yeah and just to add a couple of cool things about drop shipping so it's inventory and hassle free you don't need to manage that you don't need to worry about it most of the time but it it is not um you know 100 effort free i mean you you do have to find your niche and you do have to get the audience and whenever you go into drop shipping and we'll further elaborate when you know when we're at that lesson but be sure to order those products yourself and and play with them make sure it's tangible that you've seen the quality and know how to price it accordingly exactly thank you thank you hey i'm going to rip it up but uh please feel free to go into our um you know we have a
