welcome back everyone in today's video me Alina says in my tutorial Allah what problems would I have if I set up my domain name and hosting both at Hostgator and my answer is that even though I recommend having your domain name and hosting at separate locations I can't really say anything bad about having domain names at Hostgator I register a few domains there myself after all to see your domains at Hostgator you just click on the domains tab instead of on the hosting tab where you would install WordPress and then you could manage all the basic settings that GoDaddy offers just by clicking the gear you could even argue that this looks more user friendly than GoDaddy the only problems I can think of are that if you register your domain name and your hosting at Hostgator you still need to enter in your Hosting's name servers even if both your domain name and your hosting or at hostgator and then there's the question of getting more and more domains as you build your empire are you going to get a better discount on the second and third and fourth domains at Hostgator or somewhere that just offers really cheap domain names like GoDaddy you can get a domain name for $5.99 from hostgator by using the coupon code big bonus that I offer but that's only good for your first year and the next year you'll pay $15 GoDaddy's coupons might be able to beat that when it comes to long term domain name registration those are literally the only two problems I can think of and I guess they're just more like minor details because like I said I registered managed domains at Hostgator and these sites are some of my best sites of course there are the reasons that WP mu dev mentions as to why your domains in where price should be kept separate like organization cost trust reliable support and control but these can be looked at both ways you might want to control everything in the same place you might find more reliable support at just one place like Hostgator I know I definitely do and you might have the trust in that host the list can really be looked at in multiple different ways so long story short I see nothing wrong with having both your domain name and your hosting at Hostgator that GoDaddy is a better place if you want to sell your domain name because they list your price now of what it would be worth for resale and also I find it's a little bit easier to just jump over to GoDaddy and register domain name right when you think of an idea you can get through that process really quickly I just buy it right away and you can buy all the many different extensions like dot online guru whatever you can think of at GoDaddy so I hope I listed a few reasons why you might want to register your domain names at GoDaddy and hosted Hostgator or do both things at Hostgator we could talk about this for hours and hours so I'd be happy to see what you guys have to say in the comments where do you register your domain names and where are you the most happy with your domain names and your hosting combo thanks so much to me Elena for asking question that inspired this video and please make sure to subscribe so that you get the answer to both your question if you're featured and so you get all the latest in WordPress how to you and tips from our channel thanks so much for watching because I really enjoyed making this for you guys and I'll see you next time .
