What Is iPage Sitelock Essentials?
Is iPage Sitelock Essentials Worth It?
Do You Need iPage Sitelock Essentials?
iPage Sitelock Pricing?
Are There Any iPage Sitelock Essentials Alternatives?
Along with the five questions I’ll be giving my honest iPage Sitelock Essentials Review and Opinion to see if it is worth having for your site needs.
The iPage Sitelock Essentials add-on can be beneficial as it will protect your site from hackers and malicious attacks. It can also remove malware. Another feature it includes is blacklist monitoring which will monitor your site to make sure it doesn’t get blacklisted by search engines because of malware or malicious code placed on it.
There are 2 free WordPress security plugins I recommend called Sucuri and All In One Security And Firewall. These do a good job with security for your site. The only downfall is malware removal isn’t included. You can pay to have it removed. For example, Sucuri has a paid yearly package you can pay that will cover this. These plugins can also slow down your site speed and they do not notify you if your site has been blacklisted by search engines due to malware or malicious code being added to your site.
Is iPage Sitelock Essentials Worth It? In my honest opinion, it can definitely be worth having. Especially if you don’t have any tech knowledge and dealing with code. If you are familiar with code or tech stuff you might find it not being worth it. I don’t believe there is a straight yes or no answer as everyone’s knowledge and needs are different.

I’ll also be covering the iPage Sitelock pricing and if there are any free options for security for your site and if so what they are. By the end of this video, you should
have a clear understanding of iPage Sitelock and whether or not it’s worth having for your needs. So what is iPage Sitelock Essentials? Sitelock Essentials is an iPage add-on that is offered by iPage when signing up with them or within your iPage dashboard once you have created your account with iPage. Sitelock Essentials is security for
your website. It protects your site from hackers, malware, and viruses being placed on it. Sitelock provides you with daily malware scans, malware removal, blacklist monitoring, a security dashboard, web application scanning, and a verified security badge for your site. Sitelock Essentials works in the background checking your site daily for malware. The way it works is Sitelock automatically downloads your site data,
will screen it, to make sure malware isn’t added to your site. If malware is added to your site it will remove the malware automatically and upload the clean version of your site. You are immediately notified if malware is found. Blacklist monitoring is a monitoring service that monitors if your site ever gets blacklisted due to malware being placed on your site. If your site gets blacklisted you will be immediately
notified. This iPage add-on can be beneficial as you never know when your site might get hacked into and if your site goes down or gets malware and you don’t catch it fast enough you can not only lose sales but can be blacklisted by search engines. Also, if you don’t have much tech knowledge about code and finding and removing malware this could lead to a lot of frustration and trouble for you. Now let’s go over the iPage
Sitelock pricing. When signing up with iPage once you get to the add-ons section you’ll see Sitelock. Sitelock Essentials will cost you $1.99 per month and can be billed for one month, one year two years, or 3 years. The $1.99 price is for the first term so if you choose the 1-month term the next month it’ll renew at a higher price of $3.99 per month. When it goes to renew you can only choose a 1 year, 2-year, or
3-year term. So something to keep in mind. The 1 year term will cost you $23.88 for the first year. After the first year, it’ll renew at a higher cost of $3.99 per month and is billed annually at $47.88. The 2 year term, will cost you $47.76 for the first year. After the first year, it’ll renew at $3.99 per month costing $95.76. The 3-year term will cost you $71.64 for the first year. After the first year, it’ll
renew at $3.99 per month costing $143.64. I recommend going with any of the annual plans if you are wanting to get Sitelock Essentials as you’ll save the most money by doing this over the 1-month option. If you have already signed up with iPage you can add Sitelock Essentials in the iPage dashboard. You won’t get it for the discounted price of $1.99 per month when first signing up with iPage web hosting. It’ll cost
the full price of $3.99 per month and is billed annually. It’ll cost you $47.88 for the year term. $95.76 for a two-year term, and $143.64 for a 3-year term. So something to keep in mind. Next, let’s go over if there are any iPage Sitelock Essentials alternatives. If you are going to be using WordPress for your site there are free security plugins you can use. Two popular free security plugins you can use and I
recommend if you want a free option to download to protect your WordPress site are Sucuri and All In One Security and Firewall. These plugins can help protect your site and make it really hard for a hacker to get into it to place malware on it. Some things to keep in mind is with the free WordPress plugins it won’t automatically remove malware for you. I know Sucuri for example you can pay a fee which starts at $199.99
to remove the malware. Free security plugins also won’t notify you if your site has been blacklisted by search engines. Another thing about the free Security WordPress plugins is they could slow down your site. This can vary from site to site. But something I want to point out to keep in mind. Something you could do to amp up the security for your site is to utilize Cloudflare which is a free CDN service that has free
plans and does offer some options you can utilize for security for your website. This can add a layer of protection for your site as well. Utilizing the free WordPress security plugins, utilizing the free Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate provided by iPage, having a CDN and utilizing their security features, and making sure your username and password aren’t easy all can help to protect your site from malicious attacks. I would
definitely recommend having backups of your site as well. Cloudflare for example is a CDN with free plans and also comes with a bunch of free security options to help protect your site. So in my opinion, is iPage Sitelock Essentials Worth It? I would say it can be worth it as it protects your site daily from malicious attacks and malware along with removing malware automatically and monitoring your site to see if it has
been blacklisted due to malware added on your site. I don’t believe that this is an easy yes or no answer to this as everyone’s needs are different and some might have more knowledge than others if having to correct the site if malware is placed into it. Having peace of mind in case something happens could be reassuring for having Sitelock Essentials. I hope this iPage Sitelock Essentials Review video helped you answer the
question of whether you really need iPage Sitelock or not. If you haven’t already be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel for more hosting video tutorials. Leave us a comment we love hearing from you.
