HOW TO: WIX Store Product Variations

If you have multiple products for sell that have multiple variations/options per item, this is the video for you. Step by step on how to add products to your WIX store and account for those variations with different prices per variation. Written steps below.

TEXT STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
it you want to update.

Scroll to the bottom and select
PRODUCT OPTION (ADD OPTIONS)

Type in what you option you are going
to offer with this unit (i.e. length, color, etc)
under OPTION NAME

Because you have this option in other units
it will auto populate with the same name
you have in your other units – this is good
for consistency purposes.

Then you can select which lengths you want
to add, or for faster use, select ADD ALL

If you need to add addtional lengths, just type
the length in and hit enter. If you don’t need it,
delete them.

You can also add addtl option, lets say for color.
For this, select ADD OPTION

here we tell them there will be an addtl $100 if
they want color. For your business, I chose NOT to select
COLOR and instead did LIST. You would use color
if you were going to offer them only specifc colors
for that unit. But I have it set up so there is another area
where the client can just TYPE in the color (since you
offer Obree???, and other color style options)

If you do want to add specific colors, do this:
And only put the color you are going to offer with that
unit.
ONLY if you DID want to offer them specific colors of
YOUR choosing.
But for now, we’ll just go back to the
list option.

TRY TO ADD ALL YOUR VARIATION FIRST! But if you
forget to add one, and add it later I will show you what
to do to ENSURE that the proper charges are added.

NEXT…..

Select CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS PER VARIATION
to add additional costs to
the different lengths.

In the “SURCHARGE” area, add in what the additional
cost to have that length will be WITH COLOR (or with
whatever additional variation you have).

So in this case,
If 14″ is the base price there will be $0 addtl cost for
the length, and $0 cost for NO color. But there will be
a $100 addtl charge WITH color.

And for every level up, there is an addtl $50 charge for
length. But color (as you have it set up) will be a flat
charge of $100.
I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE – You may have to do
some simple math

You will see that the price will show you the update
price the customer will see if they choose that selection.

You can also select “hide” if you don’t want that length
or particular set of options to show.

This may be used if you normally offer 20″ but lets
say you ran out of enough bundles for 20″ but still have
enough for 18″ and don’t want to hide the WHOLE
unit.

Now, let say, you forgot to add the option of add
something. in this case, we forgot to add the
“Unit Closure” option for your wigs….

Go ahead and scroll back up and select ADD OPTION
again, and follow the steps as before.

After you have added your closure options (or what
ever the variation was) if you scroll to the bottom,
you will notice the SETTINGS PER VARIATION have NOT
changed/updated…

Here is still only shows the length and color option still.

So what you have to do, is uncheck and then RECHECK
the SETTINGS PER VARIATION option.

Now you will see the addtional option.

The reason I say to add all your options in advance,
is as you will see, ALL my surcharges have
disappeared!!! UUUUUUUUUUGHHHHH!!!!

So now you will have to add them again (the charges).
For ease sake, lets say that Frontal’s ar $0 and Lace are $5

WHEW!!! Okay, but you see where I’m getting at.

GET ALL YOUR VARIATIONS DONE 1st – SO YOU ONLY
HAVE TO DO THE PRICES ONCE!!!!

Again, we’re hiding the 20″ because we don’t have
enough bundles for that length (in this unit). Okay…
so now our shipment came in and we now have
enough bundles!!!!
YAY!

I forgot to mention….since you offer variation on color,
you may want to ADD CUSTOM TEXT for the customer
to be able to fill out what they are looking for.

And what will happen, is they can type in (up to 500 char)
what color they want…we’ll see what this all looks
like later.

Once everything looks good to go…select SAVE! Oh, make
sure you have the VISIBILITY ON when you are ready
to have it seen by all your customers (and to preview
what it will look like).

so lets take a look at what this now looks like from a
customer perspective.

So we are going to select the SHEREE unit that we just
worked on….

So now you see all our options and how it looks to the
customer….Lets fill it in…
oops, i deleted it …
lets try again…

Sorry…techical difficulties I will need to address….
so you see here, the price shows with all the upcharges

Well, that’s all I can show you in preview mode.

Make sure that when approve of all changes to hit SAVE
AND/OR Publish.

I have some changes to make…so I won’t be doing either!

Hope that helps and THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!

today in this video you will be learning how to edit and manage your Wix store products and all the nuances that is involved in that in this example we will be using Evelyn Roe’s custom wigs as our example I hope you enjoy so the first thing you’re going to want to do is to open your wig store once you have done that you’re going to go to the products catalog select products and select the unit you want to update here you will see we have
selected the unit college tray you would like to scroll to the bottom and select product options add options type in what option you are going to offer with this unit for example length color or whatever options are included under the option name here you will see we typed in length because you have this option in under the other units of your store it will auto-populate with the same name you have this is good for consistency purposes then you
will select which links you would like to add or for faster use if you scroll down the bottom select all if you need to add additional links just type the lengths in and select enter if you don’t need any additional links you can delete them by selecting the X next to those options you can also add additional options let’s say we want to add an option to choose color for this select add option here we will tell the customer that there will be an
additional hundred dollars if they want to add any color for every one Rose this particular business I chose not to select color and instead stuck with the list option of yes and no and then later on they will have the option to type in what color they would want but if you know there is only going to be a select amount of colors that are going to be available instead of choosing the list option you can choose the option to the right of it where
it will display as color use the color if you were going to offer specific colors for that particular product or unit so here I’m selecting the color black the color red and having the icon be the color that I would like for the customer to see the reason again that I chose the list option is one the customer can type in the color that they want themselves especially when it comes to wigs because it may not just be a solid color perhaps they want
it on braids or they want it highlighted so allowing just a yes or no option with a later opportunity to manually type in what they want is a lot easier for this particular clients products that they are selling so for now we’ll just go back to the list option if there’s nothing else that you learned from this video please note try to add all your variations or all your options first again add all your options first but if you forget to add one
you can add it later and I will show you what to do to ensure that the proper changes are added next like the customize settings / variation to add additional cost to the different links here you’ll see all the different options that we have where on the left is showing the length of the hair under options and the right it’s saying no or yes if we were going to allow color added based on that hair line on the next column you’ll see it says price
which is the base price that were so in the unit for the surcharge or the up charge based on those variations if you’re going to have SKU numbers or the SKU numbers to track your inventory how much of that inventory if there’s a weight associated with it but in this case we won’t be dealing with the SKU or the inventory numbers we’re going to be focusing mostly on the surcharge area for this particular website so in the surcharge area so in this
case if 14 inches is the base price there will be zero dollars additional cost for the length and zero dollar cost for no color but if there will be in a hundred dollar additional charge with color and for every level up there is an additional $50 charge for length but color as we have it set up here will be a flat charge of $100 I really hope this makes sense you do have to do some simple math here so as you can see I’m populating in the
different surcharge amounts based on the length and whether or not there is color you will see that the price will show up show you the updated price of the customer I’m sorry you will see that the price will show you the updated price the customer will see if they chose that selection so again the 14 inches with no hair color will have no up charge so it is still the base price of $10,000 the 16 inch no hair color will be $10,000 10050 dollars
so on and so forth where you get to the bottom of the 20 inch is with color is ten thousand two hundred and fifty dollars it’s some additional work upfront but it does make the process easier for you and the customer in the end you can also select hide if you don’t want a particular length or that set of options to show this can be used so for an example in this instance we have a 20 inch length with or without color but let’s say you ran out on
enough hair bundles for 20 inches but you do have enough for the 18 inches you don’t want to hide the whole unit you only want to hide the fact that you no longer can sell the 20 inch option this helps so you don’t have multiple sureiy units in your products store and you can still keep the one with just the different options now let’s say you forgot to add the option of adding another feature in this case we forgot to add a unit closure option
for your wigs so go ahead and scroll back up and select add option again and follow the steps as before after you have added your closure option or whatever particular variation you forgot to add initially if you scroll to the bottom bottom you will notice the settings per variation have not changed or updated here it still only shows that length and color options are the only two variations available so what you need to do to ensure all your
options are available is to go back up to settings / variations uncheck the slider and then recheck the slider for settings / variation option when you scroll down again you will now see that the additional options that you have added are available unfortunately because you have to add or you forgot to add the additional options it defaults all the pricing of the surcharges again now you see why I said if you do not learn anything else from this
tutorial please make sure you add all your options in advance before manually typing in the surcharge as you will see again all my surcharges are at zero and now I have to manually do my simple math but when you have multiple variations it can take some time so this is daunting but it needs to be done so now you will have to add the charges and again for ease sake let’s just say any frontal closures are $0 and lace closures are $5 so you see
where I’m getting at again get all your variations done first so you only have to do the surcharge prices once so again it’s $50 for every length above 14 inches there’s no additional charge for color and no additional charge for frontals so here I do some quick math and sorry if any of it’s wrong again you see all the different variations that I’m having to do quickly and now we’re where now we’re at the different set of variations where for 14
inches there’s no charge or color there’s a automatic hundred charge hundred-dollar charge for frontals there’s $0 charge you next the 14-inch base price $0 charge color no color apologizes $0 charge and a lace closure is an additional five dollar surcharge we’re almost there you got one more set of variations after this one you here’s a final set of variations 14-inch base price no additional charge color an additional hundred dollar charge lace
closure an additional five dollar charge for every link size up it’s an additional $50 charge so again we’re going to hide the 20 inch length because in this example we’re saying we ran out of enough hair bundles for that particular length in this particular unit only hiding the 20 inches will not affect any of your other units pretty much anything you do is based on each product or each unit that you’re working on at the individual time okay so
now let’s say our shipment of 20 inch hair finally came in and now we have enough bundles for this particular unit all you have to do is unselect the symbol that looks like an eye with a line through it where it says set as visible and now your customers will be able to see that 20 length 20 inch length option as soon as you select save and make your website published so we’re going to go ahead and set that as visible now yay thank you male I
forgot to mention since in this particular case we offer a variation on color you may want to add or select add custom text for the customer to be able to fill out what they’re looking for when they’re looking when they’re getting ready to purchase what will happen is with this add custom text field in the actual product I have given the customer and option to be able to type up to 500 characters what color they want and we’ll see what that
actually looks like a little bit later when it’s live you can’t adjust the amount of characters that you want to allow for your customer to be able to type in you can also select if you want this to be a mandatory field to fill in for our particular case we do not need it to be mandatory because not everyone will want color unfortunately if someone does select color and they do not type in anything into the custom text field you will have to
reach out to that customer and find out what specifications they are looking for so what I’m writing in this box is to inform people what they need to answer if it applies to them so here it says what color do you want only applies in units with upcharge selected for color it doesn’t have to be that long but I wanted to ensure that you the viewer is understanding what needs to go into this box you will also see on the right side next to
collections that there are options of custom collection or ready to ship these are collections that I created to be able to separate them and just makes it easier for organizational purposes oh and make sure you have the visibility icon selected to on only when you’re ready to have it seen by all your customers or if you want to be able to preview what it would look like prior to publishing your website once everything looks good to go with your
product and the pricing select save so let’s take a look now at what it would look like for my customers perspective of this sure a unit on your website so again we have the unit as visible but we’re only going to have it previewed we not going to publish it preview allows for us to review it publish allows for everyone to view it so we’re going to enter the Evelyn Rose custom wigs website we’re going to shop now sorry there’s still working on
the website getting the buttons to toggle correctly so if we shop in the custom collection we’re going to go to our a unit that we just have made visible and that we just worked on with all those different prices and variations you can either select quick view or if you click on the actual picture it will open up so now you will see all the options and how it looks to the customer so let’s go ahead and try to fill it in so let’s go ahead and try
to fill it in here you will see the different links the selection for color color if I want to add it so we’re just going to say yes what type of closure and again what type of color I want to have my hair yeah I’m really bad at spelling hombre but you get what I’m trying to get it so here I’m saying I only want one of these units and I’m going to add it to my cart oh sorry for the technical difficulties I need to address why you can’t see the
text there but it would be technically sitting in your cart would look if you were to select directly on the picture instead of the quick view select your length doesn’t matter what length color yes or no lace closure I’m selecting cuz there’s an upcharge again typing in how I want the hair to look I don’t know maybe you have this astrick thing here for all right I have no idea so we’re gonna add it to the cart again yeah this website looks
completely different now than when I was filming this video so don’t judge her website please you start adding all the different variations the price automatically changes up top so the customer is fully aware before they added how much the price is gonna be again just disregard how this cart is looking I have to go back and fix quite a few things so here you will see in the checkout preview the length the option of color will close your option
what I typed in aha that’s not supposed to be there either it’s gonna get fixed sorry let’s go ahead and close that it shows you all the total prices if there was a promo code you get out of promo code you see there’s a box that they want to add a completely separate note maybe they could say it’s a gift gift wrap it I don’t know but there’s an additional writing room there shipping is free if it’s to Jacksonville Florida but the final would be
upon checkout if it was in different states ok so again that’s all I can really show you in the preview mode make sure when you again have completed or approve all of your changes within any unit or any product that you have in your store hit save first only select publish if you’re ready to make it go like even if you have the unit hidden or not visible you could still publish it but publishing makes whatever you have visible even if it’s not
supposed to be visible visible to everyone so right now we’ll just hit save well I hope that helps you understand how to be able to edit your website or at least your products in your Wix store and thanks for watching if you have any questions go ahead and ask them in the comments below like the video share the video I’ll try to post different videos on how to do the customer store as they’re needed thanks
