hi this is brian with king grizzly let's take a look at how to trigger an elementor pop-up using a menu link or a text link so normally in elementor i could take something like say a button say i had a button i could click on it and then for the link i could use dynamic and i could go find pop-ups and then i could click on that and i could choose if you start searching i can't remember the names of my pop-up but there's one i could use i could select that and that that's one way we could have pop-up but you can't do that from a menu because the menus are driven with say like this appearance menus option in wordpress you you have a link but there's only so much you can do so what we need to do is actually associate that with an id um so here's a pop-up i made just a silly test pop-up slide-in thing um what we need to do is figure out how we're going to trigger this based on that click so off normally with pop-ups you can go to display conditions and triggers and click a bunch of stuff but actually if you go to advanced you can open by selector so you can set an id or a class so let's just set an id i'm going to put pop and i'm going to update this and then i'm just going to ignore the rest of this i might need to to add a condition for it to show on all pages we'll find out okay so i saved that i'm coming over here to my menu i'm going to add a a custom link to it so pop up i think for the url we just put in like a number score and add to the menu now when i click on it there's a way i can add a class to it you get that by going to screen options at the top and you can set classes so actually instead of an id i think i should use a class called pop i'm going to save that i'm going to come back over here i'm going to change that condition from uh oops am i on the right page nope i need to be in the pop-up okay let's just let's use a class instead so period update save and close well i'm going to update and refresh this page we'll see if i did it right so let's preview click nothing happens right okay so something didn't work so my first guess is that i need to actually set some display conditions for my pop-up keep going to the not pop-up page okay display conditions okay i want this available on the entire site save and close thank you very much all right let's try to refresh our preview see if that works yep okay so the pop-up needs to be set under advanced to show by selector i recommend using a class so it's a period and then whatever name you want if you have two names like pop-up you should use a hyphen not a space um and then over on your menu when you add your custom link the url can just be the number score but you need to put a class on it to get this class to show you need to make sure you turn that on under your screen options and then finally that pop-up under the display conditions needs to be set to the entire site and then it'll work so that's how you trigger a pop-up from the menu so you could do the same from i think like a text link in your page you'd have to give that text on the class um anyway so it's it's kind of a virtuous way to get this to work but it is pretty cool so that should do it let me know if you have any questions please consider subscribing to our elementary tutorials here on youtube thank you so much .
