in this video we're going to be taking a look at how to reset your WordPress password first of all you will need to go to your WordPress login screen type in your domain name followed by a forward slash in the words WP dash admin and enter to continue at the login screen there is a link labeled lost your password let's click on this link now type in your username or email address and click the get new password button now check your email account for the email sent to you by your wordpress installation click the reset password link at this point you can type in a new password be sure to do that twice click the reset password button at this point your password has been reset you can use this link to log in or go back to the regular wordpress login screen click the log in to continue and we are in if for some reason you are not getting the email sent to you by WordPress or maybe you have mistyped your email address and your email is not being sent to the correct place there is a more advanced way of doing this however a word of caution this is a little bit more advanced so only do this as a last resort and if you're not comfortable doing something like this on your own you're always welcome to contact our support department one of our tech representatives will be more than happy to reset your password for you alright so this is how you do it in your browser bar type in your domain name followed by a forward slash and the word cPanel hit enter to continue this will bring you to your accounts cPanel login screen you will need to use your web hosting account credentials to log in once you are inside of your cPanel locate the PHP myadmin icon it's under the databases of section click PHP myadmin inside of phpMyAdmin on the left hand side be sure to select your WordPress installations database and inside of the database you will see a variety of table names click on the WP underscore users table in this table you will see a listing of all the user accounts in your WordPress installation let's click the edit option we will select this entire string of characters and delete them we will type in our new password but before you hit save from this pull down menu select md5 this is an encoding option for your password click the gold button to continue this password has now been encoded and now you can use that password to log into your WordPress installation so let's go back to the wordpress login screen i've been our old username and the new password which is created if login to continue and once again we are in congratulations you now know how to reset your wordpress password .
