I alright so in this tutorial we're going to cover how to install Magento through quick install at Hostgator calm so to begin you'll want to log into your Hostgator control panel and you can get there by going to your domain name forward slash cPanel so here I'll use a demo URL and you'll use your username and password for your Hostgator account and click login alright once you're logged in you want to scroll down to the software services section and click on the quick install icon and on the left hand side you'll want to find the commerce software section and click on Magento and then click continue alright so from here we'll need to pick an application URL if we leave this field blank then magenta will be installed to the root of your account if you already have a website that's probably not a good idea so in this case we'll install it to my Magento and the URL path and we'll need to enter in our email address make sure this is valid because quick install will send your Magento admin password to that email so we'll leave these settings defaulted to what they currently are and fill in your first and last name and let's leave automatic updates enabled and click install now so what quick install is doing it's going to download Magento move it to your Hostgator account and it will create the databases and configure the databases for you so once Magento is installed it'll be fully operational and you can begin logging in all right now quick install is finished installing Magento and you can visit it by clicking here and now you see the home page of your new shopping cart now you'll want to check your email address or email account that you registered with for Magento and check for an email with your password in it from quick install we'll pull it up here and we can see the admin URL let's go ahead and copy and paste this and plug this into our browser and let's bring that email back up and copy and paste that password your username will be admin and then paste that password in there click login alright so now we're on the admin panel for Magento and to begin you could change the homepage so if you currently go to the homepage on Magento you'll see something like we saw earlier very blank bland boring now if we go back we can go to CMS and the navigation click on pages and we'll see that homepage this is displayed on default when you go to your store and you'll see a title URL key and if we go over to content we can add some text here and if you click save and exit save and continue' or let's just do save page it should update the pages been saved and now if we go back to our store just slash my Magento will see the message we just put in there and save .
