hey guys in this video I'm going to show you how to install WordPress on your domain in your green geeks account so basically once you log into your account scroll down where you see the quick server login I'm zoomed in real far here so you guys don't see all my personal info but you're gonna click the big blue button that says cPanel login once you go to your cPanel it should look like this scroll about halfway down or so and you're looking for the software section and you're gonna go to the soft Alysha s– apps installer it's really hard for me to say for some reason and so click on WordPress when you get there we're installing WordPress here and then one more button here to install now so it's the blue here alright choose your protocol if you missed the last video go back and check it out on requesting your free SSL certificate it should take about an hour um tops that's the longest summer ride experience so and you should get a message back on your open tickets let's say we've done it and so what you're going to do is choose the HTTPS protocol not with the www I think that makes the URL too long so just HTTP and you're gonna choose your domain if you have multiple ones just choose the one you want leave the directory blank it's going to default to what you need go ahead and give your site and name do not get caught up on this you can change it later once WordPress is installed but it's better they just give it something specific that way you you don't forget about the settings so go ahead and do that let's see so we're gonna go ahead and put in a description here leave this unchecked you don't need to worry about that your admin username do not use the word admin it's it's like a huge security risk everyone's gonna try and type in admin use something more specific and don't use the name of your domain so in our case you can use your name that's totally fine go ahead and put my my admin actually I'm gonna put my admin its launcher arrow here and then you're gonna want to create a password I'm not gonna show you the password I'm creating but if you click this little key it'll actually give you a strong password so give yourself a username generate yourself a password make sure to copy and paste it save it somewhere important and save it somewhere safe and then you're going to skip English great and keep keep English I'm assuming everybody's doing English and then login attempts login icers this is to add this plugin you don't need that as well either because we're going to be installing wordfence and then there are some Advanced Options here again don't worry about any other thing you do not need to select a theme we're gonna arm you with the one theme you need so that is literally it right once you have your log your username and your password just scroll down past the rest of this and go ahead and click install okay and then once it's installing it's going to it should be pretty fast assuming you have pretty fast internet so that is how quick it was congratulations the software was installed successfully so um really all you need to know is that your admin URLs right here it's always your domain name forward slash WP which stands for WordPress – admin that's pretty much a standard but save this in the same place that you saved your admin and your password so once you click that link it's gonna automatically log you in and now that you've saved your password you're always going to be able to log in so now you have WordPress installed on your domain on green geeks and next up we will be installing your theme .
