hey guys in this video I’m going to be showing you how to set up a free SSL certificate using green geeks so essentially SSL is that you know secure padlock option that you have right and you want one you can pay for an annual certificate and it’s a little bit fancier quite frankly I like free so green geeks offers a free SSL called let’s encrypt and all you have to do is open a support ticket when you have your account set up and ask them to
install it on your domain so let me show you so under support you’re gonna go to my tickets right um actually you’re gonna go to open ticket that’s what you want to do so click on the open ticket button and you’re basically gonna have it’s gonna auto populate your email address you don’t need to add any recipients you’re gonna go to level one support for the Department because you’re looking for technical support and not sales and it’s related to
your service to your hosting service so that’s already Auto populated and and then your subject line is please install it’s called let’s in crips SSL and then what I’ll do is I’m actually just going to reiterate this but they said please install let’s encrypt SSL on my domain and then I want you to list your domain do not put www I think it’s better just have it clean your WW will always redirect to your domain but I don’t like to put it in here
so I’m just gonna go ahead and type in the domain I’m looking for and that’s it I always like to thank people so thanks so much right and then you don’t need to attach any files and that is literally all you need to do I’m going to open this ticket and it’s gonna submit it you can always check that’s where I was showing you you can go to support and you can go to my tickets and you can see what is currently pay doing what they’re waiting on if
they’re waiting on the customer to talk if it’s in progress so this one’s in progress and after working with green geeks over the last couple years this process typically takes anywhere from a half hour to maybe a couple hours depending on how busy they are that day but it’s definitely going to get done sooner than you think it will so um so just hang in there wait for that and then up next we’re going to install WordPress
