hello everyone this is lawrence from greengeeks and today i’m going to show you how to configure your drupal settings your settings determines how your website operates in your hosting environment and in most cases you only need to configure these ones for this tutorial I’ll assume you already know how to log into Drupal and I’ll just tab over to my website let’s start by finding our configuration settings click on configuration in the menu
from here click site information the first field is your website’s name this will display in search engines and at the top of your website next we have our website slogan which will also display in search engines this is a good place to put a catchphrase or trademark the email address field contains our websites email where you’ll receive your website notifications now scroll down to see the rest of the options this drop down over here will
determine how many posts you make are displayed on the front page over here the default front page will set our front page to a post you’ve already made and just like the front page you can set your page not found and access to nie pages in these fields as well when you’re done click Save configuration click system to go back a level then click actions this is where you configure how Drupal responds to user input on your website let’s create an
action scroll down until you see create an advanced action I’m going to create a comment filter so click unpublish comment containing keywords now hit create this field will unpublish any comments containing the keywords on typing whenever a comment is created containing the words were day and word be it won’t be published now click Save to update your settings now click system to go back from this page hit cron to learn about the cron settings
cron manages your website’s automated tasks it’s a useful feature that performs maintenance on your website and ensures everything is working right to run cron manually click run cron over here is where you can set how often cron runs when you’re done you can save your configuration now let’s go back click on this link right over here scroll down until you see your regional and language settings click regional settings right over here regional
settings contains your websites country time zone and other time settings you can set your default country and first day of the week down here you can set your time zone and decide if users can configure their time zone as well you can also set how this affects new users on your website when you’re done you can click Save configuration to save your settings now let’s go back to regional and language settings and click date and time to explore our
