lifestyle tips to help simplify your everyday life. For daily inspiration and

When you're trying to build your personal brand or business online, it is important to look professional. For instance if I were representing myself in person I would dress a little nicer. I have my pink blazer here which is one of my signature branding colors just to represent my personal brand and the same goes for
your website! So building a website online it's very important because
everything right now is online. A place for you to put all of your content, your business information the services that you have, or even an online shop. So I partnered up with my friends at Wix.com to share with you how to build your own personalized website! And I wanted to just walk you through some of my favorite features, what I use it for and how you can create your very own website! If you are interested in creating your very own website using Wix, I will have the link down below in the description box to click the link there to get started.
When I talk about building your personal brand and your presence online, I think having your very own website is important. I've been building up my
personal brand for almost 10 years now here online in creating YouTube videos,
and I always had a blog or some other source for you to go to for more
information. And I have used Wix to have my blog articles where I can have links and more photos for you guys. So it's really powerful just to have your very own website. My website is MadeSimplyCo.com! It is a home and lifestyle blog
and services website so you will find articles that relate to my videos or
And then I also have a list of services that I'm offering locally. And it's something that is personal to me. I really wanted to make
it about my personal brand and what I offer to you guys, and that is how I came up with Made Simply Company! I want to thank Wix for sponsoring this
video and working with me to help share how you can create your very own website.
So without further ado let's get started! Wix has a variety of plans to fit all
your needs varying in the amount of storage you need, what features you need,
including a domain and ad vouchers. They also offer business and e-commerce
options. I currently use the business basic plan, where I can accept online payments, get a domain for a year, and 20 gigabytes of storage for just $23/month.
Once you've chosen your plan and landed your personal domain, it's time to get started! Let's get right into the editor where
you can personalize your website to fit your personal or business branding. Let
me walk you through some of my most used features. The toolbar gives you the
necessary tools you need to design your website including the toolbar, layering,
rulers, gridlines and the snap to objects feature. Grids and rulers really help you
align objects as you design. Wix also offers a Help Center and step-by-step videos to guide you.
Down the left side you'll see a menu bar to help navigate the features including menu and pages, background, apps to add, your blog and other features that you've decided to use on your website. This drop down menu helps you navigate the pages that you've created. A nifty feature is the "Edit on Mobile" where you can edit your page and how its viewed on a mobile device. This is important since 52% of traffic to your site will most likely be on a mobile device. Be sure it's easy to navigate.
The site menu can be managed here. I suggest placing your menu in the
header so it appears at the top of your page at all times. As with any website, create an "About" page that describes yourself or your business or what your
website is all about. Wix really helps me personalize each aspect of my pages. My newest page I design is a "What's New" page.
On this page I use things such as headings, paragraphs and a button in which you can add many actions to. I have this one linked to a blog post. I also added a video player that can play my videos from various platforms including YouTube. An important aspect of my website is my blog. On the blog page I have a menu at the top sorting my posts by category.
If you click settings on any of the features it will open all the options available to customize it. In this case I have a few layouts to choose from,
depending on how I want to showcase my articles. I will stick with the editorial layout. The settings also allows you to further customize the look of the font style and colors. You can click on preview at the top right
any time to quickly view how your page
will look on desktop or mobile.
Then you can switch it right back to editor to continue your editing. If you are looking to write articles, Wix makes it possible to write a design post for whatever content you're sharing. My favorite feature is being able to add photos directly from my social accounts, including Instagram and Facebook right
to my post. You can also add a gallery of photos, videos, a divider, HTML codes. a
.gif, code snippets or files.
I often use the video feature to add my
corresponding YouTube video to my posts. You can also add links to text by
highlighting it and pressing the chain-link icon. If you're a blogger, let me know down in the comments what topics that you share on your website! Let's start with a blank page and see what fun features we can add. Click the plus icon to see all of the things that are available. Once you start designing it's
nice that the editor will save your preferred fonts and colors by pulling them from your page.
You're able to change font sizes, resize elements and move things around as you please. Click the settings on any of the
features to see what you can customize. Images for example can be linked,
filtered and even animated. This makes a page feel more engaging and you can
click preview to see it in action. Adding strips your page makes a big impact, and
Wix provides different templates to choose from.
I want to customize this strip with my photos and colors so let's give it a go. I change the photo to a picture of my couch since I share home decor on my website. And then change the background of the other column to a shade of pink. Wix templates gives you a great
outline that will help you jump-start your designs and suggest what info you can add. Let's talk more about the mobile editor.
I created a landing page my
followers can access to view my newest content, so optimizing it to mobile is
crucial. Wix gives you the tools you need to best optimize your page on mobile. This includes the page layout and more. mobile tools such as the quick action
bar, back to top button, a welcome screen and a chrome theme color, all important
details to consider. The Wix app market is a feature where you can embed other apps into your website.
Wix business solutions can be used if you have an
online shop or you need to manage bookings or events and more. I like to browse what apps are popular and then see what social media apps can boost my
page. For example on
the shop my feed section in my page I use the Instagram feed app to feature
links to the products you'll find in my posts. If you're offering a service, Wix helps you create a professional page listing your services and more information with different layouts you can showcase all you have to offer. And customers can also book right through your Wix website.
I myself am branching out into doing more interior design work so this page is where customers will search through what I offer. This feature is great if you're
running a business or doing some freelance work. The Wix editor auto saves
your work as you go. To publish your work, simply press publish and it will go live. You can view your website, and be sure to test all the pages and links to be sure everything is in working order and the design is to your liking.
Wix is not only great for designing your website but has the tools built in to help it be
successful! The dashboard is where you will manage your blog, services, bookings,
invoices or inventory. Wix also tracks your analytics. And knowing your traffic
sources is important in growth and discoverability. Since launching my site,
I love seeing all the progress it's making and where I can make improvements. Get creative when creating your Wix website.
There are so many features you
can use to customize it to your needs. Be sure to check the link in the
description box for more information and get your website started today! I hope
you enjoyed this video and got some tips and inspiration on how you can create
your very own custom website on Wix.com. Thank you guys so much for watching and
I'll see you in my next video, bye! .
