what is up guys computer MD of Gilbert here and in today’s video I’m going to show you and yes I’m sure you’ve looked at the title and looked at my video from like two days ago and you’re like it’s the same video no it’s not but I’m going to show you how to add a paid membership website here to your which website paid membership sure which website um so guys as promised I told you guys and promised you that if I ever found any new solutions to
any of the videos I’ve uploaded that I would as quickly as possible try to update them so you guys have the most up-to-date information so this page membership on Wix has been a pretty pressing issue for most people so I decided after doing a lot of research for you and trying to figure it all out with all the questions I was getting how to make it a little easier as I mentioned this is still not a foolproof plan but this at least clears up a
couple of the issues there’s some back-end stuff that you’re still going to have to work on and focus on but this issue and this method probably works the best out of the two I showed you so the two I showed you this one kind of combines both of them the first one was adding a member button the second one was adding a password and that password video I uploaded two days ago so guys I’m going to show you how to do that before we hop into that guys
Wix my website calm link in the description below if you have not signed up for my weekly Wix tips yet I highly recommend you do so um people on here are already getting very active they’re already learning a bunch I’m getting a ton of emails a ton of questions and I love it I’m here to help you guys out if you’re looking to start your first website this list will help you if you’re looking to finish your current website this list will help you
you do get exclusive content on there that YouTube did not see and part of all this updating and everything is coming straight from that list so if you have not gotten on that yet go check it out link in the description below alright guys so let me show you how to do this so first things first in both of our methods I showed you to add a new page that is going to remain the same so you’re going to go up here you’re going to add and you’re going
to add it and we’re going to call it purchase so on this page people will be able to purchase your paid membership now you could obviously design this page customize it to however you want your sales page to look to sell your membership however you want that page to look you design it and customize it to that and your knee however the one thing you do need to do that all of us that are watching this video have to do is create a PayPal Buy Now
button this PayPal Buy Now button will give you the ability to set your price and then people will buy it and then the nice thing about the PayPal Buy Now button is they have a little section in there that will redirect them to a page so let me show you how to do that so we’re going to go into Google and you’re just going to type in paid look okay so by now buddy then you’ll see right here by now buttons paypal you’ll click on that and then
you’ll see this pop-up right here by now create your button map you’re going to click on that once you’ve clicked that you’ll see the button settings come up and this is where you actually design your button and the price and all of that so you’ll see right here choose the button type so if you’re going to have a flat rate membership meaning like a one-time fee and they get access maybe they get access oh no so I’ll go into that one in a second
so a one-time fee just one time they pay for access for your membership site there’s no fees after that no recurring fees nothing like that you’re going to go with the fine now button however if you’re going to do like a monthly and I’m going to be honest with you guys tracking your subscriptions monthly if you’re planning on building a paid membership for monthly is going to be a lot harder with this system on Wix until they update it so if you
are going to go with the subscription model and I’ve talked to a client personally about this actually today which is part of the inspiration about this um if you’re going to go to the subscription model I would maybe start off and give wait some time to fix their system by going with biannually or and if you don’t know what that means that means yearly so if you’re going to go with any subscription model I would go with the yearly or twice a
year model once you have decided whether you’re doing a flat fee or subscription fee you’re going to go with it I’m just going to go on here and use the I’ll use the subscription fee for this so you would then put your item name and we’ll just call it which course I’ll just name it something like that then your subscription ID you can see what is this and you can either add an ID so this is kind of like have you ever seen SKUs and SKU number you
can add an ID for this not mandatory ain’t nothing like that you then need to choose your currency and then you have options here so I’ve showed you this option on our last video if you had a drop-down menu say you have different membership levels so description for example so we’ll just call it member ship levels sorry and then say you have different membership levels so you have a gold membership you have a silver and then you have a platinum
okay each of these memberships can actually have a different amount so maybe this one is $5 this one is $10 and I’m sorry good and then this one is $15 and then right here since you’re you looked since you’re using a subscription model you choose the frequency so it can be daily weekly monthly or yearly I’m going to select yearly because I think personally that’s going to be the easiest for you guys to manage when I explain exactly how you kind
of finish this process up with Wix integrated so I’m going to say yearly so I’m going to be honest with you as well adding different membership levels confuses this issue even even more it’s going to be a lot harder to add different levels in to Wix and keep keep all of them organized and figure out who’s at what level and all that since which doesn’t have a surefire system for paid membership I want you guys to know I’ve put requests in to Wix
for them to fix this issue so hopefully in their next update we’ll see this issue fixed but right now just follow this method I’m using in this video so as I mentioned I think this will add a bit of a confusing element so I just wanted to show you how to do that if you decided you did want membership levels I’m not going to use it for this example and then right here I have PayPal create usernames and passwords for customers so you’re not going
to want this because you’re going to want Wix to have to do this you’re going to need Wix to optimize this this is actually like it gives you no give customers access to members only content this is a nice feature the thing is it’s not going to integrate into it for as far as which goes right now then you need to choose the billing amount each cycle so how much is charged each cycle so this is what your price will be per month as I showed you the
on this drop-down that that was different levels so this one is the actual price it will cost your user per month or per year as I said we’ll just call it $10 a month but you can then change the billing cycle so this is once so I would do once a year to make it as easier for yourself in this current design after you choose that you didn’t going to choose how many cycles to billing stop you can choose never but if you’re only selling like a yearly
membership maybe say stop after two cycles or something like that if you guys want to offer a trial period like a free trial period you can offer that and you could choose if they have to pay anything and like how long the trial period will be and you can even offer a second trial period as well that is all up to you you customize that you would then put in your PayPal information there step two here on you guys really don’t have to worry about
this Save button at PayPal so this will actually save your button to your PayPal account you ever want to duplicate it or anything like that as far as tracking inventory I mean you’re going to be selling membership access so you’re not going to have to be like selling a physical product with inventory in it and track profit and losses you’re probably not going to have that once again because you’re not really tracking inventory it is good to look
at tracking profit and losses but it’s a little different with this membership method step 3 this is the important method here step 3 is where you’re going to make this all come together um so first things first if you’re an advanced user you can customize checkout pages streamline checkout all that okay you need your customer shipping address so being that you have a membership site and it’s all going to be online I’m going to select no if for
some reason you want their shipping address for like email I like direct mail marketing or something of that sort you go ahead and select whatever you need to select for that and then you’ll see two boxes this box right here is what kind of connects this and makes this all happen this box right here so you’ll see take customers to this URL when they cancel their checking so for this one if someone like X out of checkout and they didn’t actually
finish the payment or anything you can create like a page in which that says oh we’re sorry you cancelled your checkout maybe give them an offer or try to get them back to the checkout page say you know like sorry for your cancellation or can we do something to improve this product or service you know direct them to a page of your choice and you would simply check that on and then paste the link from that page into here if you wanted to create
one now this one right here take customers to this URL when they finish checkout okay so this is the important one so what you need to do is I’m going to show you in a second but you need to create a page in your which website and then design the page and on that page its hat it has to be member locked so that page has to be member locked and I will show you how to do that in a second but you need to create a like a members homepage almost that
will that this link will go to right after people check out so we’re going to click that on and then once we have the link from that page we would paste it into here you need to make sure that happens that you paste the link to like your members homepage um that’s member locked and that’s your like homepage for member access you paste that link into here and then you press create button once you create the button it’ll generate code you’re then
going to select the code copy it and then here on our purchase page your sales page where you designed it and you have people actually buy the membership you’re going to go to add you’re going to scroll down to more and then HTML code when you do that you’ll double click this and then you’ll see what you want to add you don’t want to add a website address you want to add code you’ll then paste the code that PayPal gave you right here click update
and then BAM your button is done so this is your subscribe button so on your sales page you’ll have this subscribe button so at the bottom or something like that you might want to throw a little box around it and you know you once again you design the sales page how you want but make sure this is the button they click to actually subscribe for your membership site and this is how they pay using this button and it will then take them to PayPal and
on PayPal they can either pay via their PayPal account or all major debit and credit cards because I know some people get a little convoluted and confused and think that PayPal is only with a PayPal account and you can’t pay with debit or credit cards you can pay with debit or credit cards so now that you have this subscribe button and you know it’s going to redirect to the page you create let me show you how to create that members home page so
you’re going to add a page call it maybe a members home ok on your members home page you design it you you know you put whatever content you want on here I’m going to show you more of the backend stuff and the schematics of how to make this work but obviously you put whatever information you want your members to see on here whatever the first piece of information first piece of content that you want them to see that’s what you’ll put on here you
design this page exactly how you want however I will let you guys know instead of and again you put yourself at risk a little bit but instead of creating a whole bunch of you know pages on your menu what I would do is I would add almost like a secret button menu not only people that are on this Members Only Members Only homepage can have access to so what I would do is add a button add button BAM we’ll call it a button and then create member
pages that only your members can see but they can only access it via these buttons and by doing that nobody else can actually get to these pages without either having the URL or clicking on these buttons so that way and make sure that only members who have landed on this page and get access to it can click on these buttons and go to your other pages now let me show you how to member lock this page in the new method that I’ve been trying to
explain to you this entire video so the new method is we’re going to go up two pages we’ll click on this members home page and we’ll click permissions down here on the last video till I told you to password protect it you can still use that option if you want all the options I have showed you so far will work but at some point or another they all have blogs to them so for instance one of the flaws to the password protected page is that if if you
have somebody that cancels their membership how are you going to boot them out of the password protected page otherwise you’re going to have to go and change the password and everybody already has that password so that becomes an issue and guys like I said I’ve been researching this a lot lately so I’m trying to bring you the best information so what you need to do is make this page Members Only and then you need to choose what language is
frustration in okay so it’s in English then you’ll see right here remember sign up settings for all Member pages you need to click that link on here this is this is the key to make this new one happen who can be a member you need to make this people I approve the reason you do this is now when people try to become a member because obviously you guys know with the Wix member login button anybody that signs up unless you check otherwise can just be
a member so that means technically people could use the login button to enter this page without even paying however if you make it only people I approve you can match who signs up versus who paid on PayPal and then you can approve those people manually and I will show you how to do that and then under that says what Austin shows first you’ll probably want new members sign up or existing member login whatever one is that just chooses like what one
is first displayed and then think of switching between new member sign up and exists and logging but make sure you click people I approve once you’ve done that click done once you press done this now means that people will be redirected to this page and then a prompt will come up and it will not let them open this page without signing in as a member let me show you guys a quick little preview of how it’ll go I’ll publish my own site here okay
will view my website and then we’ll go to members home oh I have to sign up now when I sign up I can’t actually log in until you approve me so until the site owner approved you you can’t actually log in you can create an account but you’ll get a the person will get an email notice when they’ve been approved so now what you can do is you can have people sign up and then you can go back and check and make sure they paid on paypal and then approve
them now to approve them and I need to go and take this page off my menu because obviously I can’t have this page published on my actual website when you guys from YouTube come over here okay so now now when your page and your member signs up and you have to go approve them you would go into my account and then what you would do is you would go into contacts and I’m not going to pull up my contacts account because I actually have legitimate
emails in here and I’m not going to display them on YouTube obviously personal you know protection there for all the people that have signed up on my email list but you go into contest and on the side it will say site members and then it’ll say approved or it’ll say disapprove under it or you know deny you would go in there and click on site members and then you can manually go through and approve the people that have actually signed up and paid
on PayPal this now makes it easier for you so that way you can actually figure out who paid and then if someone doesn’t pay their subscription you can go through and actually disapprove them and take them off the members list until they go pay again in which they can sign up again if they so choose so I know this method seems a little confusing but hopefully this finally cleared it up for you guys and showed you one last way until I find more
updated ways or which this is their system to make your website here and which a paid membership website I know this was a long video I hope you guys prepped with me the entire time if this video helped you out please drop a like down below comment if you have any questions at all and subscribe to me here on computer I’m be of Gilbert as I am looking forward to growing with you guys and part of that growth is this weekly wicks tip email list guys
