Learn how to add an additional website to your HostGator baby plan.

alright guys so to add a new website to your Hostgator plan you first need a baby plan so here’s my shared baby hosting package and here’s my VPS package and we’re going to focus on the baby today of course although you can do this in both and UPS it’s a great idea once you grow up a little bit so to do it you got to start with a domain right so we’re in click domains register a domain and hosting ever has this fantastic window to search
domains just like GoDaddy except for it’s a little bit cooler because it’s inside your Hostgator panel it feels like everything’s in the same place so look up your domain and then search it and you’re gonna find that the options that you know might be a different extension and then hopefully you’ll find the available domain and you can just click the term period one years good and you can give it a privacy right here that’s tiny little X if you
want and then continue to checkout so you can see where to get a better deal in like the standard $15.00 price they should have your payment on files you should continue to checkout and buy the domain alright and this will also work if you bought a domain from like GoDaddy before for example that’s how I’ve done it before in a few cases once you have in your domain come back to the dashboard and we want to launch cPanel so right click launch
cPanel and what you have to do is create an add-on domain at Hostgator which is basically like a folder for your new website and we’re going to install WordPress there even though you won’t be able to access it right away by you know visiting your domain name because we just bought that so we’re gonna go to add-on domains it’s gonna hit command v ahead on there is click add-on domain so I’m not sure what it’s called add-on domains that word is
kind of confusing and that’s really the only confusing step in the process so your add-on domain has to be that new domain before the video that we just registered and again this is just a folder for the website so we’re doing the hosting stuff now we’re not registering a domain name again alright leave the other boxes as they were we can’t have to account for this if we want and then we’re just gonna click um actually not gonna be FTP today and
add domain awesome alright new domain name for the video has been created now we’re gonna go and install WordPress on this domain so to do that we have to go back to our cPanel and then we’re gonna find the quick install what my eyes are getting bad these days right there front of me click click install WordPress so this is the steps you followed for your first installation select the domain and now the new domain for the video is there make sure
you just get the you know plain extension leave directory blank and hit next new domain you know go through the process you look before agree to the terms and just install where best so Hostgator will do their convenient one-click install super fast and now you have WordPress on this add-on domain name and its living in this folder so the last step is just to connect your domain name to this folder alright so I’ll make the folder into a website
so we can close this screen and now we’re gonna go back to our original hosting window let me do that well we close the cPanel I come back to this window and click domains actually excuse me don’t go to domains quite yet we’re gonna need to go to hosting tab and you’re gonna want to click on manage on your baby and grab the name servers so here’s where the name servers are your hosting plan live just click on the question mark and you get ns1 ns2
and the last step to make this all work is gonna be to enter it and it’s 1 and s 2 into your domain name so that might be somewhere else like GoDaddy but in our case it’s just that host here we can go back to domains finding your domain name and click on more and then down in name servers make sure to change out alright so sometimes that don’t mean so sometimes the name servers can’t get little bit messed up there’s a lot of reasons for that you
just have to double-check that they actually do point to your correct hosting plan which is our baby plan and then save them and if they already reported correctly then that’s great all right guys so we’ve registered a new domain name at hostgator that we’ve also installed WordPress on and Hedlund domain name at hostgator which is the steps to add a second third fourth whatever website on your Hostgator shared plan shared baby plan in a matter of
minutes you should be able to log into that new add-on domain name that we’ve just bought and go ahead and start creating WordPress and if you can’t get in right away through the front-end then there’s probably a way to access WordPress through the Hostgator portal all right please make sure to subscribe like comment all that good stuff I’m going right at thanks for watching
