Fix Gray Button in Wix Custom form & News for Classified Wix Website

hello everyone hope you’re having an amazing day today i want to show you uh two things one is i’m gonna show you how to fix the gray button problem that a lot of people are having right when they create a custom form the button is grey and it doesn’t let you submit or you cannot even write on the fields to be able to submit information the second part i’m going to show you is about this new video that is coming uh this week and it’s going to
show you a lot of things everything from how to create a search bar how to have multiple dropdowns and the most important thing is that uh you’re gonna be able to create a super user-friendly uh dashboard where people can update their own profiles submit their own listings and i’m gonna show you all that right now and the best part is that it doesn’t need to be necessarily for real state it can work for any other industries so let me show you uh
so let’s start with the dashboard so we’re gonna go here and as you can see here this is the dashboard once the person creates their account login and go to the dashboard this is the first thing they see and here uh this is kind of like the snippet of like what their profile looks like once they added their content when they go to update profile they can literally change anything right here so they can come back and update or change and then
submit the data and it will stay there so they don’t have to have multiple pages which is kind of annoying that sometimes you have to have a profile and then update and go to so many different places this will be all within the same page now from here if it’s for a real estate person or for somebody selling some type of item depends on what you want to use this website for they can upload a new listing or submit a new item you can name it
anything here uh they’re gonna be able to add all their items right and submit that so once they submit this it should look something like this right so let’s say this is the item that they submitted can be again for selling house cars uh items online whatever it is uh also for rental properties if that’s what you want to use it for so once you click on the item here you’re gonna be able to see that it already comes with the person’s uh profile
now this one has multiple profiles that’s why you all you saw that person but if we go to this other one you’re also gonna see another member so i have multiple members with different accounts and you can have the same thing so it gets referenced inside the collections so that’s something that it’s a big deal that now a lot of people are showing you is how to be able to have multiple collections and display it on one single place it’s a little
tricky i’m gonna show you how to do it not difficult so it’s going to be very easy to follow and again that’s why i’m very excited because you can do those things so let’s go back to the dashboard once here on the dashboard you’re going to be able to go to app update listing right so instead of you having to scroll down and try to find where the property is you can just click here and select the property that you submitted because this is going
to be your own profile so let’s say if i go to this option right here as you can see automatically updates all the fields and i can go here and change let’s say the price whatever it is right so this is this is very cool because then once you update your listing you can go back and change and see what the the change was or you can just go back and do you know uh other things so if we go again to update listing we can go to this one he updates uh
we go to this one he updates so this makes it very easy for the user to be able to update their profile submit new listings and again you can do many different things now if you don’t want to watch this whole video and see how it gets done i’m going to put it for sale and this specific website you can just go and take it or you can learn for free and do it yourself it’s totally up to you now let’s start into the reason why i’m making this video
today in is how to fix the problem for the great button so we’re gonna go here so this is another project that i’m working on which i call it the success calendar and pretty much is for people that wanna start like writing a journal uh being more positive things like that so i’m going to show you a quick example so i’m going to click login and i’m going to create an account so i already have a form here but i just want to show you what the
problem that a lot of people faces so let’s say we’re actually going to use this one we’re gonna do testing and then so let’s say you sign up right you create your account and then uh we’re gonna go on this section right here which is adding data to the form and this is the problem a lot of people face the button is grey they cannot even upload any content and they’re like why right but as you can see i have this button right here which i named
it activate page but it can be named anything so before we get to this button i want to explain to you that there are so many reasons behind this problem right here so the number one your data set is set to read only so when you have that problem many times is you have it as read only and this is a form that’s why you won’t be able to submit any data or connect to anything now make sure that if it’s a forum that it’s going to be submitting any
data make sure you have it right only or read and write if this is going to be something that you want people to be able to update second problem is the permissions that you have on the collection so you want to make sure that if this example right here for this collection um the settings are meant to be for the site member author only then anybody else that it’s not the owner of the account they won’t be able to submit any data now now let’s say
you have everything in order and everything is like properly connected you follow every single step and you still have this problem one of the things that happens that a lot of people sometimes forget is that when you’ve been working and this is for ex from experience when you’ve been working so long with the editor uh the cookies get saved on your browser that sometimes things start messing up so before you even go and change all this make sure
you clear your browsing history and make sure you clear your temporary files again everybody is uh is gonna be different because some people use mac and i personally use um pcs like windows so again just make sure you clear your cookies and delete any temporary files that way you’re gonna have a clear uh you know system so when you’re working you’re not gonna have these issues because that happens a lot always test on a private page uh or
incognito it’s called on chrome so if you do that that awesome gives you like you know a for sure thing that you have some problem and it’s not like the the system or weeks also if you’re working after like two in the morning uh usually i think weeks does updates at those times so things start messing up and it’s not all the time but sometimes like very often when i’m working that late i see these problems now the last thing that a lot of people
didn’t know about is that when you have multiple members on one page and you create a form that every member can submit data to this is the last thing you need to uh you need to check if you have and this is the part that uh i was mentioning to you is you have to add a button okay so i added my button and then i have to make sure that i connected to the collection to the data set okay and then once you have it connected to the data set the same
that is for your form you gotta make sure you select the option new so you have the submit button load more reset but as you scroll down here you select this option called new if you don’t do this part then the form is not going to allow you to do anything and i have talked to weeks before if there was a way around this but unfortunately that’s the way that it has to be done now you can you don’t have to name this activate page you can say
something like uh turn on page or start writing or things like that whatever you want to name this button also it doesn’t necessarily need to be exactly like this you can do any design you want but let’s go see the live version so um when we go to the to the page right and they’re trying to add content it’s not letting them so i have the button activate page so when you click on it now it created that or activated that option on the person’s
account so now they’re going to be able to write content so they can update add delete whatever they want to do and then say page so now it’s saved so that if they go to a different day and come back it’s still there so they can keep adding content uh i hope this wasn’t confusing but again the whole thing about this video is this button right here which is connected to uh the data set and make sure you select the option new so before they can
even write they have to click the button in order for them to start writing and that usually will happen when uh you have multiple members so make sure that you know that if you have questions write them in the comment i’ll try to help you if you still have problems but again check all those details before you even get to this part because again i’m not sure if you’re having multiple members and that’s why you have this issue or if you’re just
working on a single page and that’s the problem so again this is something i haven’t find anywhere else and this is definitely going to help you a lot from now on because now you can do a lot of different things mostly when you’re working with multiple members again thank you for the support wait for the upcoming video which is gonna be uh the listify or classify whatever we wanna name website and this is definitely gonna be a game changer for
your business if you’re having multiple uh submissions or you have like a real estate website or you’re trying to help a client that sells cars or it doesn’t matter you can literally do things that you didn’t think it was possible before uh definitely it’s gonna require a little bit of code so if you’re a beginner i would recommend that uh you get a little bit more idea on how to use um you know like basic things like uh connecting data sets
