Hostgator is hosting your website but you have a client or yourself as a person SSL from GoDaddy I'm gonna show you how to install that thing you need to download the SSL and install it into Hostgator so first of all you going to log in your GoDaddy click on SSL certs and click on manage it's gonna ask you for a CSR certificate signing request so go to google and type in Hostgator space CSR and will take you to this page here and this is where you fill out the domain name so let's say your domain name is this Rox Daum put in your your email associated with your Hostgator account your name last name address city all that stuff filled this out hit submit you're gonna see something pop up on the screen that looks exactly something like this what you're gonna do is you're gonna copy this and you need this part of it too don't make the mistake of copying this that won't work you have to copy the lines and all that good stuff alright so then you go back into GoDaddy and you submit that and when you do you hit request certificate then you're gonna be taken to the screen here where it's going to stop at 50% because you're you're hosting out your domain on Hostgator so what you need to do is copy this little text DNS record which is hidden right here you need to copy this little number and then you need to go into your clients or your your cPanel and you need to go to advanced zone editor under domain under the domain section click on that we're going to change this a record to txt and then go ahead and type in your domain the raw I'm just using a pretend domain there TTL is going to be if you look down at all your zones here you're gonna see a lot of your zones are the same number for the TTL so you're gonna go 1 4 or 4 0 0 then you're gonna put in that number that GoDaddy gave you will look something like that what's the letters and numbers maybe okay and then you're gonna click Add record once you do you're gonna come back here and hit update it might take about 24 hours to propagate but now GoDaddy needs to recognize that it's in there so the servers need to communicate with each other and once it verifies you should see a download here where you can download the certificate if you were on a shared hosting account which I'm sure most of you are then you will need to have Hostgator install it for you so if you just go to can we type it into Google here Hostgator SSL click on this one right here install SSL okay and this is where you fill out your your credentials here because most gator is going to want to charge you to install it because you cannot install it yourself on a shared host hosting plant you don't have a dedicated IP for that so and then you get the SSL certificate from GoDaddy and place it here the same with here and same with here and then do all the stuff and then submit it and Hostgator should send you an email back within a couple hours or so and install that thing for you well that pretty much covers everything that you need to know if this video helped you out in any way shape or form please leave a comment down below and let me know I'm not just talking to the wind here and that this is actually helping somebody thanks again .
