Video Discription

In this video, you will learn the Difference Between a Domain and Sub-Domain. On the world wide web, a domain name is a name assigned to a website. It is the web address that allows internet users to access your website.

A domain name is made up of a Top Level Domain, Second Level Domain and a Sub-Domain. In this video, I show you an example of a website and explain the various parts of the domain name. You can create multiple sub-domains from your main domain.

For example, www.ajgodinho.com is my main domain. And I’ve created a sub-domain called demo.ajgodinho.com. I have web hosting through Bluehost and with my hosting plan, I can created unlimited sub-domains. This can be very helpful because each sub-domain is treated as a separate domain.

So Essentially, you can build an entire website on a sub-domain. Hope this video was helpful in understanding Domain vs Sub-Domain. Feel free to check my other Bluehost and WordPress tutorials via the links below.
