hello everyone this is scott mitchell with inmotion hosting in today’s short video we’re going to show you how to enable the ability to see hidden or dot files in your cPanel first thing you want to do is log into your C panel which I’ve already done here and we’re going to find the file manager which is located in the files category and file manager icon now we’re going to first show you what it looks like without the dot files are the hidden
files displayed and then show you how to do it with the dot files it’s displayed here so we click on the icon there little ol box all we’re going to do is click go and it brings up the files and folders here that are in public HTML folder and then this was only about five here it’s a couple of folders and three other files now if we go back the cpanel I click on the file and rear down here before you can click the Go button there’s a couple of
options here one is for show hidden files and r dot files so if you get that I click it’s going to show the hidden or Dodd files as we go into the same folder click go and you see there’s different number of files here as a dot secret folder a dot htaccess file which is in every account and a lot of times needs to be modified based on your program which is why we just shared this video here and then we have this like another one called dot
password just some things I made up so you can see how they do not display in the original but they do display here when i select like that box the reason you would even want to use a dot file for instance the dice access I kind of hides it from normal view and just kind of keeps it out of the way unless you specifically need to go into modify it dot password this is an empty file but if I wanted to put some passwords in there something like that
and i had that helped up through my h access file you may use a dot password file in order to see what passworded I’m trying to type in as I go to a different folders dot secret just an explanation of say Oh had some folders here some files in the folder I wanted to keep kind of hidden from view and I’ll make that a dot secret anybody can turn that on so it’s not like it’s really hidden from view but it’s just more like to keep things out of the
way a little bit of housekeeping here all right so that’s how you turn on the dot files are they hidden files in the cPanel again I’m Scott Mitchell with animation hosting thanks for watching

man gör det med punktfilerna det visas här så vi klickar på ikonen där lilla rutan allt vi ska göra är att klicka på gå och det tar upp filerna och mapparna här som finns i den offentliga HTML-mappen och sedan var detta bara cirka fem här är det ett par mappar och tre andra filer nu om vi går tillbaka cpanelen klickar jag på filen och går tillbaka här innan du kan klicka på knappen Gå det finns ett par alternativ här en är
för att visa dolda filer och r dot-filer så om du får det jag klicka på den kommer att visa de dolda eller Dodd-filerna när vi går in i samma mapp klicka på gå och du ser att det finns olika antal filer här som en punkt hemlig mapp en dot htaccess-fil som finns i varje konto och många gånger måste vara modifierad baserat på ditt program vilket är anledningen till att vi precis delade den här videon här och sedan har vi den här
som en annan som heter dot password bara några saker jag hittade på så att du kan se hur de inte visas i originalet men de visas här när jag välj som den rutan anledningen till att du till och med skulle vilja använda en punktfil, till exempel tärningsåtkomsten, jag döljer den från normal vy och håller den ur vägen om du inte specifikt behöver gå in på att ändra den pricklösenord detta är en tom fil men om jag ville lägga in
några lösenord där något liknande och jag fick det hjälpt upp genom min h access-fil kan du använda en pricklösenordsfil för att se vilken lösenordsfil jag försöker skriva in när jag gå till en annan mappar punkthemlighet bara en förklaring av säg Åh, hade några mappar här några filer i mappen som jag ville hålla lite dolda och jag ska göra det till en punkthemlighet vem som helst kan slå på det så att det inte är som
att det verkligen är gömt. men det är bara mer som att hålla saker ur vägen lite hushållning här okej, så det är så du slår på dot-filerna är de dolda filerna i cPanel igen. Jag är Scott Mitchell med animationsvärd tack för att du tittade
